This square is bustling with life, a market every morning selling all sorts from flowers, wooden gifts and teas to hot dogs and fresh fish. There are a range of shops and eateries around it too many very decorative and historically interesting. Even in the rain it is busy and full of life but when the sun shines it is... More

Fun to see the historic architecture and get a sense of the old city. The morning market here is very fun and has great produce to pick up for a picnic if you are driving around the area.

Really beautiful place, with nice small artisanal shops for food and handcrafted pieces. The cathedral is also amazing.

Many choices of foods (small-goods, cheeses, fresh fruit and vegetables) in the market place with a number of cafes and restaurants around the square. We then went into the Freiburg Cathedral and then continued our walk around the old city. A great time walking around and experiencing the... More

Great place to visit, enjoy the monastery (try to climb to the tower, with kids of 6 and 4 impossible) and relax having a beer in one of the resto around the platz. Mandatory visit in Freiburg.

There is a market ongoing everday and they have a wonderful selection of rresh produce, vegetales, fruist flowers. Also they sell chees, olives, sausages, and some artist sell wooden carvings, etc. Theere are two wells... More

Just how you imagine a German town to be. Particularly enjoyed the daily markets and having an evening drink at one of the many bars surrounding the square.
