Traveled south from Forbach to Triberg on a fall day. We took a million pictures. Amazing! Scenic overviews are everywhere and many have information signs.

One of the most scenic roads in Germany and with lots of delicious restaurants along the way. It's worth spending several days and hike up and down to the various lakes and hidden monestaries.

Although taking this road makes the way to the southern black forest a little longer, it is stunning- obviously preferably on a sunny day - and every stop along the way worths it, where the main stop should be at lake mummelsee. Well maintained road, and the driver is fortunate, because speed limitations allow him to stare at the view... More

Even on a dull grey day, driving the Hochstrasse was great fun - for the passengers who enjoyed the variety of wonderful views, and for the driver as a challenge to concentrate on the road! Despite the clouds we had terrific views into France and would love to go back on a clear day.

Really nice, good road with beautiful views. Make a stop at Mummelsee, like all other tourists, but actually it´s worth it!

My husband and I took the Schwarzwald Hochstrasse from Baden-Baden until we exited for the Allerheiligen Monastery Ruins...the drive was peaceful (except for the speeding vehicles, zipping around us) and we loved all of the little "park and hike" spots. It's certainly slower than taking the freeway, but well worth the extra time!

It you want stunning scenery, friendly locals and a wonderful place to get away from the rat-race then this is the place to go!! You can just drive around along this awesome road and stop every so often and explore the forrest. There are plenty of little cafes and restaurents to enjoy the local food It's completely worth the visit

It's a wonderful drive, and offers mid-sized towns to small villages - as well as the Zuflucht look out point, the Lotharpfad and all sorts of wonderful views of the mountains of the Black Forest.

Fantastic scenic drive through the Black Forest. It's especially magical to drive with the sunroof down in summer as the tall trees loom over you! There are many places to stop to see the view, buy souvenirs, or take walks through the forest. The Mummelsee (small lake surrounded by trees at the top of one of the mountains) is a... More
