We have to agree with the positive reviews given by others. Perhaps reading too many reviews had raised our expectations too high because we found it an excellent, unique experience but not out of this world. We were prepared for the nudity and neither my wife or I found it an issue. The soap massage was very good and you... more

It was a great once in a lifetime thing to do! Just like the Romans did, and boy you felt like it. Get the brush shower, an extra 3 euro, but worth it! You do feel amazing after a day at the spa. We also did a load of service through the spa. The one we most enjoyed was the... more

Having been operating in a very stressful environment the last six months, a friend had recommended that I headed to one of the spas in Baden-Baden. After investigating the issue, I had found the two main spas were Caracalla and Friedrichsbad. Based on past recommendations on this site, I had to go to the Friedrichsbad Spa. Everyone's initial worry about... more

OK....one of life's great experiences might be a bit strong, but certainly this was at least one of life's most interesting experiences. Yes, you have to get naked in front of strangers but the awkwardness wears off in about 2 minutes. During the first stages men and women are separated as you move from room to room alternately sweating, showering... more

Other reviewers capture the essence of this place. Imagine Harrods Food Halls combined with showers designed by Isembard Kingdom Brunel and a sense of natural tranquility that will send you to sleep in the final stage (wrapped up in blankets and left in a darkened room). Fantastic. I went in the morning and spent the rest of the day in... more

This is an unmissable experience. I couldn't quite work out the real difference between the mixed and non-mixed days (since both sexes always get to be together in the centre whichever day you go). But the soap and brush massage is great, as is the wrapping up at the end. If you don't mind being naked in front of everyone... more

I visit the Friedrichsbad (Thermal Bath) regularly when in Baden-Baden. The Romans some 2000 years ago already enjoyed the hot springs here. You can even visit some of the bath ruins from that period. The Friedrichsbad building alone is worth the visit. It dates back to the late 19th century and the interior is even more spectactular then the outside.... more

On December 6, 2004, my husband and I made the Friedrichsbad and Caracalla Therme our first stops on our trip to Germany. Going to Friedrichsbad is a perfect way to start to the trip to soak off any travel stresses and to hydrate the skin and body. Buy the 3 hour package to make sure you have enough time to... more

Baden Baden is a place where anyone can afford to be pampered and rejuvenated, and in a style that only the Europeans seem to be able to cultivate. For about 29 dollars I spent one of the most relaxing and healing days of my life at Baden Baden, soaking up some of the world's most pure and mineral-rich waters and... more

If you are going to Baden-Baden, do not miss the Friedrichsbad experience. It is unlike anything you will find in the U.S. If you are shy about being nude with other people, this is the place to forget about your worries. Everyone is nude, you have no choice. No bathing suits allowed and after a few of the 16 "stations"... more
