My wife and I tried the historic old bath of Friedrichsbad on a day with "separate" bathing stations for men & women. Actually, the baths are separate only up to steps 10 or 11 where it becomes mixed. There are secure lockers for your clothes and the experience starts with a nice shower. It progresses to various steam and dry... More

35 euros is nearly the top price on the list, and gets you 4 hours in a self-paced bathing schedule and scrub brush massage. I wouldn't recommend the full 47-euro price, because the only difference is an extra massage with lotion, and it's the same massage you get with the scrub brush (they must have their training down pat!) only... We decided on the traditional baths of Friedrichsbad (instead of Caraculla family friendly clothed format) and as others have stated, once you are naked and sitting on the lounges in the first steam room, you don't really give it a second thought. We went on Sunday, combined facilities day so men and women together and it is a very liberating... More

Friedrichsbad has mixed usage on certain days, so the more reserved might want to choose carefully which day to go. Fans of Japanese baths and hot springs (ofuro and onsen) should like Friedrichsbad though. As mentioned by previous reviewers, Friedrichsbad is designed with 15 to 17 stations, signposted with arrows and the amount of time one is recommended to stay... More

Affordable luxury - for €35 you get 3.5 hours in this Old Wold spa, plus a soap brush scrub. If you're not cool with nudity, you can go to Caracalla next door but it's less "traditional". Friedrichsbad is all naked, all the time. Honestly, after 5 seconds you really won't even care - most people are older or fatter than... More

I had read the reviews and really wanted to experience the baths. I had to really gear up for the nude experience but was prepared. We went on a day that my husband and I were separate but we did meet in the pool near the end. It was relaxing and I would do it again.

I pretty much agree with all the positive comments people made on this spa and my husband and I enjoyed this experience immensely. We went on a co-ed day. Our only complaint would be that while it is worthwhile and enjoyable to have the soap, scrub massage, we found it not very relaxing as the attendant is constantly talking and... More

I just want to begin by saying that I am very modest and never imagined myself enjoying a nude Roman-Irish Bath, but the history of Friedrichsbad intrigued me and the healing thermal waters sold me. My best friend was visiting me from the U.S. and we decided to take a day trip to Baden-Baden. The area in which Friedrichsbad Bath... More

Decided to try this one on advice of Rick Steves (it's his world, we just live in it). It was exactly as advertised: impressive facilities, very euro, and a nude/coed experience. Went on the day that they segregate men/women for 16 of the 17 steps. The main area where it was still coed was surprisingly not uncomfortable or embarrassing (at... More

My wife and I picked a co-ed day to try out the spa here, and it while it did not disappoint, it did not blow us away either. There were some definite babes here, and everyone is very open comfortable with going completely naked, which makes it a big drawing card on its own. The problem is the lack of... More
