We went on a Monday at around lunchtime and it wasn't that packed at all. We bought 4 hour tickets and still managed to go over time! There is a charge of €1 per 15 minutes you stay over time, which isn't that bad really. You really need the full four hours to get round to everything there is to... more

This place is awesome! What a wonderfully relaxing place to loll away an afternoon. The entire facility is kept clinically hygienic (there are even feet disinfectant spray things for you to sterilise your feet before leaving). The staff are pretty clinical and unfriendly but that's to be expected for the high standards of German service (it dosen't really matter, really).... more

The Caracalla therme is a must see if you are ever in Baden Baden. The thermal baths are huge and amazing, with indoor and otdoor bathing and smaller hotter pools. It really has to be seen to be appreciated. You must keep your costume on in the pools, however go upstairs and you will enter the sauna area, once inside... more

I was blown away by the one of a kind spa experience any where I’ve been. This place is so big even in high season with so many people visiting I could use every sauna comfortably. The eucalyptus steam sauna downstairs was amazing, I highly recommend it. The pool is warm and big. Half of it indoors and the other... more

Caracalla is WAY OVERRATED, OVERPRICED, and OVERCROWDED. I went there in September 2006 and the water was fine except for the crowds and you had to constantly keep your eye on the clock to make sure you didn't run over your paltry 3 hour time period - it was ridiculous! My girlfiend and I were about 2 minutes late leaving... more

This was an excellent modern attraction. Don't go expecting to swim much as even the giant pools seem to be treated as giant jacuzzis or hot tubs where people loll around in the various temperatures and jet strengths. The Sauna area is modern, clean and very light with many options clearly explained (though only in German I think). The Wood... more

Went to the Caracalla Spa a couple of times during recent short visit. Highly recommended - very clean and civilised - make sure you go for the four-hour ticket (the maximum) as there's so many different pools, saunaus etc to try that the time flies by. Up the spiral staircase is the sauna area which is nude (strictly enforced by... more

On our recent trip to Germany and being a devoted "spa goer" wherever I travel, I had to visit Baden-Baden. My husband and I arrived in the lovely town of Baden-Baden on a Saturday, late afternoon. After speaking to our front desk clerk at Der Kleine Prinz (GREAT hotel, but that's another review), he recommended that we go to Caracalla... more

We visited on July 24 and were surprised to discover that spa was closed for renovations for a few weeks. I'm sure this will be a benefit to clients when it reopens, but it was a surprise to us and as near as I can tell, there is no notice on the spa website about it being closed. This is... more

We hit Baden-Baden at the end of a beautiful but exhausting two-week driving excursion through Germany and Switzerland - and can't think of a better way to relax and decompress. Once you get settled in, it's a beautiful town, and the highlights are definitely the two big thermal spas - Caracalla and Freiderichsbad. Unfortunately, we never got a chance to... more
