A wonderful drive up and down from Mummelsee. In Mummelsee you can take a walk and look at contemporary art placed out in the woods, collect large pinecones and eat and shop souveniers. We had coffee and cake at the restaurant which is kid-friendly as they have a small kids-corner with toys.

We visited this lake in the Black Forest just after a heavy snowfall, and the landscape was magnificent. It can be reached through bus 245, which takes some 40 minutes from the Baden-baden center to the Mummelsee. The complex by the lake includes a store with a variety of Black Forest items, a hotel and a restaurante.

The best part is the drive to this lake. Its a great sceanic route and extremely easy to reach this place using the public transport(bus) or a car. Just hope the weather is not bad and you can spend hours having a quality time with your loved ones. There are some nice restaurant overlooking the lake and overall a great... More

When you explore the Black Forest and ride from Baden-Baden to the south then you should definitively take the Black Forest High Road. Appr. 20 Minutes after the City you reach the Mummel See. This is a nice stop to walk around or even make greater hikes. You can get good souveniers and there is a new Hotel which has... More

it's relatively unattractive for someone sp close to the waterfront everyday. it's more a tourist spot with sp many cars looking for parking. I would rather spend the time in other small towns in the Black Forest

Lots of busses and tourists but the lake is a nice, quick visit. For me, it is the road to the Mummelsee that is spectacular!

We walked here from Ruhestein and it is a nice place for tourists. You can easily walk round the lake and there are some lovely views.

we were travelling the Schwarzwaldhochstrasse from Baden Baden to Friedenstadt and stumbled across Mummelsee. Lovely setting with some magnificent views over the Black Forest. Some good eateries and a wood fired baking oven where the bakers are at it all day. There's also a lake where you can hire boats and some tracks for walking and/or mountain biking Recommend a... I wouldn't call it a lake, it's more like a large pond. The attraction of Mummelsee is not just the place itself. You're driving through the Black Forest region (if you come from the south, which we did), you go up the mountains, have intermittent spectacular views, very shaded drive, a little scary at points because of the sharp turns... The lake itself is a walk around a nice mountain lake, but the road to it is the famous "Schwarzwalstrasse" with several places to enjoy the great view in the Rhein valley and on the french side (by good weather only !)
