Introduction The Exhibition Frida's Photos covers 6 areas, each documents a period of Frida's life as a young girl, woman, artist, wife-lover, politic activist and eventually fashion icon. The photos belong to the collection of the Kunstmuseum Gehrke- Remund, and have been collected over the past 30 years. The most famous photographs have been purchased from the Muray Archives and were on show in the USA in the recent tour of the Frida Kahlo Replica paintings belonging to the Kunstmuseum. They have been transported from the USA to show them especially in this exhibition. All additional exhibits: dresses, jewelry, accessories are original from Mexico and identical to the dresses, jewelry Frida used to wear or to the accessories Frida had in the Casa Azul. As most photographs are in black and white, the Kunstmuseum wanted to reproduce the colours of Mexico and the environment in which Frida lived, by using banners illustrating the rooms and the garden of the Casa Azul. We wish you a wonderful experience in Frida's life and Mexico!

I have visited museums and art exhibitions all around the world, and never seen such a complete, deeply researched exhibition as the Frida Kahlo Museum in Baden-Baden. The number and quality of exhibits are exquisite, the information given are enriching and I have experienced a totally new Frida Kahlo. The best exhibition I have ever seen... and they are replicas!... More
