Lyon has a long history and the story of its development is extremely well told in the first of these museums. Museum is in the heart of the old town . It gives a good history of lyon and its worth paying the extra for the puppets. It's set in an old mansion and contains several good exhibits showing the rich history of the city

The museum was a somewhat selective historical review of Lyon. The items displayed were clearly individually very well prepared and some extremely impressive and overall quite interesting. It claimed to chronologically review the city's history but three items should be noted: . The English language auto guide did not match the relevant rooms number compared to its contents and this... We didn't see the marionette section, but the history was wonderful! It was free for students and they offered free lockers for our bags, which was perfect for our... More

There are plenty of maps to display the changes in the landscape and portraits of important figures in the history of Lyon, especially from... More

Wonderful museum setting out the long history of Lyon, including the traditional puppets of France. Easy to get around and see the displays, very well set out and english explanation sheets. The restaurant has helpful staff and good food.
