This means half island and is a fabulous area. When it is warm people local and visitors come out to dine and meet. So vibrant and full of life. This area has a lot of fabulous fashion places and the sales are in July.DANGER! DANGER!😎

This is an excellent shopping area with great street performers and shops for every budget. The best Mango I have ever been in is on this street and it is great for a leisurely walk as there are no cars to contend with.

Generally it is said that for a city to be beautiful it has to be graced by a river............ well Lyon has this except there are two of them! This phenomenon has created what is here known as Presqu'ile or for those that are not so eloquent in the French language: (almost island). Basically a portion of land where the... More

To me...it's smack-dab in the middle of everything....Vieux Lyon, the 3rd...metro stops, shopping, restaurants...it has anything and everything that you would need within reach.

Central and close to the major sites. Plus, lots of excellent shops and restaurants nearby. Easy to walk round and a buzzy atmosphere.

Presqu’île (French for peninsula) is the heart of Lyon. Extending from the foot of the Croix-Rousse hill to the confluence of the Rhône and the Saône rivers, it has a preponderance of cafés, restaurants, luxury shops, department stores, banks, government buildings, and cultural institutions. You will inevitably end up in this area with old Lyon and the Fourvière hill to... More

My hotel is in the centre of this district, yet after staying 5 nights I still haven't been to quite a few streets and discovered new shops , or interesting restaurants. Being a transport hub, the fantastic public transit, which included metro, tram, bus ( I have taken them all), rightly takes you to most places tourists may want to... More

Difficult to avoid the attractive retail shopping to lure you into both the major chains but so many small and proprietor run specialty shops. Wonderful offerings. The restaurant scene throughout Lyon is confirmed by the busy and popular rue Merciere. Throbbing on the three nights we were there.

Lots to see here, but very busy, lots of traffic and a dizzy amount of upscale stores to shop in (but pretty high prices). Many sidewalk cafes to choose for dinner but just not as fun as "Old Town".

Centrally located. Best place for tourists to hang out and stay. Non-stop shopping that covers 100 square blocks. Lots of designer clothes stores. Lots of medium priced eateries. Convenient access to metro, bus lines, trams. If you are only in town for a few days, this is the area to spend most of the time.
