We wandered about this huge park. It is well used by joggers. At the time of our visit there were plenty of hatchlings, ducks, geese and moorhens. The park was beautifully green and the rose gardens will be spectacular when in bloom. We were surprised when we found that you can just wander into the zoo, which is in the...

Having visited many parks around the world, the Parc de la Tete d'Or was simply one of the most beautiful parks in the world. I visited in Spring (April 2013) and the treescape was gorgeous. Its great for the family as it has a zoo, a greenhouse, a lake/pond and you can do all sorts of activities there. It was...

Beautiful. A lovely, relaxing day by the lake. We were very pleasantly surprised by the free zoo - only downside was that because it was so sunny, you couldn't easily see through the glass windows, all we could see was the reflection of ourselves. A truly beautiful place though!
We just enjoyed walking through the park and watching all the people who were picnicking, running, walking, or rollerblading. We didn't realize that the zoo was free or we would have spent more time there. We took the little 20 minute train ride which was fun, and the driver was great. We visited the Monument des Morts on the little...

Perfect place to spend a day whether the sun is out or not in Lyon. The zoo is extensive considering the price (free!) Plenty of space to walk, run, picnic and cycle. In sunny weather, boating on the lake is so much fun and there is a petit train and mini golf. Various themed gardens and glass houses also. Perfect...

When the weather turns sunny and warm, do not go anywhere in Lyon except Parc de la Tete d'Or (Golden Gate Park?). This Parc has something for everyone - lovely groomed paths to stroll, run or bicycle, paddle boats and rowboats to rent, a botanical garden and zoo (free), lakeside dining, pony rides, a playground, water bumper boats for kids...

My pictures will do the talking because it was just amazing. Amazing. The flowers, the lake, the trees... worth seen more than once.
This is your place to be on a Sunday, either with or without kids. Clean. Great for jogging. It has a free zoo attached to it but check. the openinghours in advance because it closes earlier than the parc itself.
It's basically just a nice park to go take a stroll in, bike ride, or just relax a bit. I very much enjoy going here. But is it like the most amazing park in the world? Do you have to see it if you go to Lyon? I'd say no. But it's still nice to go to.
