Very attractive building

This is a magnificent building and right in the centre of town. Sit on the other side of the square and look across and admire the building.

Architecturally speaking, the building is very beautiful and it dominates the square. It has a lot of details and it's nice to sit on a fountain accross and look at it.

One of the best building in lyon. Back side near opera national de lyon, front side face place des terreaux. Fontaine bertholdi gives another attraction to hotel de ville.

I never tire of this wonderful city. I have shared other posts showing the many attractions that await the first time and returning visitor. The photographs show street scenes that are now as familiar to me as my own home town. Take time out to visit Lyon, you will not be dissapointed

The 'Hotel del Ville' or City Hall. One of the largest and most ornate buildings in Lyon. Would have loved to see the inside, but the outside is very impressive and even more beautiful when lit up at night.

The structure and the decoration of the front of this building is outstanding, and there are some interesting features of the rear and centre of the building which can partially be seen through the railings at the rear of the building. The rear of the building is worth visiting as there is an interesting fountain and a channelled flow of... More

I had an opportunity to go to an event at the Hotel de Ville and it is as gorgeous inside as it is outside. I love the history and the attention to detail throughout this "city hall". So few places in America take the time and money to look like this. If you have a chance to tour the inside,... More

This was well worth the walk in the rain. The building and plaza in front of it (including the fountain) are spectacular.
