My family and I visit this museum last week and were completely amazed at what we found. It's entrance is unassuming and small considering what lay beyond. The museum has a fantastic collection of movie memorabilia from a wide genre of films. The most amazing are the miniature sets and scene pieces created by the owner. You get lost in... More

I went in expecting myself to enjoy the miniature exhibition more, but then I found myself totally enchanted by the movie bit since it unraveled the processes that go into making the special effects that make movies truly magical! A great number of special effect items used in an array of movies you must have seen before are displayed with... More

We nearly didn't bother to visit but decided to have a look around not really expecting much. We are glad we did. There are 8 different areas each containing a lot of film props and memorabilia, much of which is quite recognisable. There are severed arms from various horror movies, a Gremlin and the mehanised life sized model from Predator... More

Very original and fun! Okay, maybe because I'm a bit of a movie geek and fan of miniature models. They have a good range of movies used for display (i.e. different eras movies, genre). Recommend if you love watching films, interested in art or the process of making of movies or just fancy something a little bit different. Great for... More

We probably wouldn’t have gone in, but admission was included on our Lyon day pass and we were walking by. But we were glad we went. The lower floors feature props and some whole sets from movies, mostly science fiction and horror. They warn that some of the rooms may be unsuitable for kids, but it really wasn’t so bad.... More

we have a 14 and 12 year - both boys and we have gone to the Museum of Miniatures every year for three years. 4 stories of great exhibits in a wonderful old building in Vieux Lyon. If you have kids who like movies - especially fantasy/Science Fiction, you should go; it really is a lot of fun!

OK, that's coming from a miniature nut but there is plenty here for people who love to see actual models from major motion pictures -like star wars and other Sci Fi as well as some horror flicks (not really my scene) used on the set as well as costumes and life sized materials. Part of this museum may be intense... More

This museum exhibits a large collection of props and costumes largely from science fiction and fantasy movies. You'll find fully reconstructed scenery from the murder movie Perfume, weapons and gadgets from both American and French movies, masks, anamatronic figures, and even a very large robotic version of the alien queen from the movie "Alien." There's a temporary exhibit area which... More
