Close to Galo-Roman arena . Extremely beautiful view. From here you can see the true beauty of Lyon and its grandor.

This view is breathtaking. It is close to the Basilica and the Gallo-Roman museum. Amazing to think that you are standing where an ancient Roman city stood. The view is truly remarkable. If you walk down the hill, you will find yourself back in old town. Magical.

If you want to see the whole city, you must take the tram up the Fourviere Hill and then walk down the slope through a beautiful park and then you will reach the old part of Lyon with still more interesting things to discover.

Take the funicular (free of charge with your Lyon City) card to reach the Basilica on the top and enjoy magnificent views of the city. You are standing exactly were the ancient roman city was. Visit also the roman amphitheaters, the gallo-roman museum and the reliquaries museum.

The highlights are the Basilica, the magnificent views of the city and the roman ruins. The ruins are still in good condition and it is easy to walk among the ruins.

One of the best place to have a beautiful panorama of Lyon. Of course take the funicular ( around 1,70€ /way)

Do not attempt to walk up, unless of course you are a local and accustomed to steep uphill climbs! Rather, take the funicular up (best to take the one on the right that discharges you at the Basilica) and then walk down through the park on the side of this steep escarpment. Start at the lovely park next to the... More

Taking the bus up the side of the mountain was well worth it. On the way up, we could see two ancient Roman arenas for drama and literature as well as a recent construction site that uncovered ancient wall art. At the top of the hill next to the church, the panorama was amazing. Able to see the Pencil, the... More

Hmm, the hill is so beautiful that I didn't mind all the steps and they are many! The Funiculars Fourvière are absolutely perfect.
