We went to the top via the Furniculare which was fun and took just a few minutes. The view from Lyon at the top was stunning and there is a lovely walk down through a lovely wooded area of trees and lots of steps.

Amazing views of the entire city of Lyon below. Check out the bronze sculpture of the city that is a 3D representation. The Basilica of Notre Dame is worth a visit as it is over the top inside. Mosaics cover even the ceiling as well as the floor.

We took a 5 min funicular ride up to the basilica. I highly recommend doing this if you come to Lyon! The views are breath taking! We decided to walk down from the top through the rose gardens. The walk down was beautiful!

The funicular is the easy way up, but you can show off your fitness by striding up the Montee des Chazeaux and the zig-zag through the Parc des Hauteurs, pretending not to be out of breath. If you have a heart problem, take the funicular! Whichever way, the view from Basilique is worth the effort, and the Roman amphitheatre should... More

The best view of Lyon from the top of the Fourviere Hill. Check it out at sunset - spectacular! Don't forget to check out the stunning interior of the church too!

If you want to burn some calories after you´ve indulged yourself in Lyons cuisine, then take the stairs up. If not, theres public transport going up to the hill. The view from the top is lovely!

Excellent views of the city and the Roman theatre ruins close by are also interesting. The Basilica is also worth walking through but not overwhelming.

Hopped on the Funicular to the top of Fourviere Hill. Took in the Cathedral, walked down to the edge to see the views of Lyon, and walked through the Gardens. Just magnificent. Then walked down through the old Roman ruins and Ampitheatre dated from about 4BC.
