Excellent views of the city and the Roman theatre ruins close by are also interesting. The Basilica is also worth walking through but not overwhelming.

Hopped on the Funicular to the top of Fourviere Hill. Took in the Cathedral, walked down to the edge to see the views of Lyon, and walked through the Gardens. Just magnificent. Then walked down through the old Roman ruins and Ampitheatre dated from about 4BC.

It is worth it to come up to see Lyon because it is such a short ride from Vieux Lyon. You can see all of it at a glance. There is also a Roman Ruin right below within minutes of walk.

With our second time to Lyon, we were very glad that we took the on-off bus that took us to the highest hill in the city. This hill offers commanding views of the city. While there you can not only enjoy this view, but walk over to the tower that is similar to the Eiffel Tower and also go into... More

For people who don't mind walking and climbing some stairs. During your walk you feel you are going through a sacred path... Very quite, very clean and flowers in every corner. There is a fantastic 5 stars hotel there ideal for honey moon. At the top you can visit the beautiful basilique of Fourviere.

There are many sights to see while you are here. The cathedral is a marvelous work of art and is worth the trip itself. My favorite was the view of Lyon. Unfortunately it was not a clear day, but still what an astonishing view of Lyon. There is a cafe next to the cathedral with outdoor seating which was enjoyed... More

Go there on a clear day - you don't have to go up all the stairs! Take the funiculaire!!!!! Much easier and fun. Then find the basilic and go to the side of it and THERE - you will have a gorgeous sight of Lyon. When you decide to go down the hill, you can take the trip through the... More

This one is really a must see!!!! Let alone the fact that there is a beautiful church sitting on top of it, but the views are just simply spectacular!!! Great spot for making photos 😄
