Take the tram up the hill as it will seriously tire you out walking the whole way up that hill - trust me, I wish someone gave me that advice Restaurants aren't very accommodating for fussy eaters and the price is a bit high anyway - vieux lyon is a better option You get a great view of the city... Take the funicular up the steep hill and arrive at a truly stunning cathedral. Amazing views back across Lyon and lovely walk back down. A must do in Lyon

The Basilique contains the nicest mosaics I've seen in France and probably the best modern mosaics that I've seen anywhere.

This church is gorgeous. The upper level features beautiful frescos in gold. If you look carefully you will find a door that takes you to a lower chapel dedicated to Mary that is equally as beautiful. The view across the city of Lyon is amazing and I'd recommend walking down through the park afterward to the old city

The building is extremely ornate inside and interesting outside too. Fabulous views over the city from the terrace next to it. A must see .

Loved the funicular taking us up to the place - the interior, the explanations of the guide, the entire place, the panoramic view over the entire city, we saw the Alps and the Montblanc. Not to be missed when you visit Lyon!!!

Visit for the Magnificent view which is quite unique, car park available or arrive on the funicular railway. The Basilique is ok if one likes icing sugar architecture.

The view of Lyon from the terrace beside the Basilique was fabulous...we could nearly see the Alps as it was a clear day. Inside the Basilique, I couldn't believe my eyes. It was so beautifully decorated and looked brand new, despite being 140 years old! There is another large church downstairs as well. It must have been for the commoners... More
