It is A lovely basilica with colorful and decorated interiors. There is a lot of gold. You will notice also stained glass windows! The floors are made out of mosaics. It is often named as the upside down elephant because it is said that it looks like an elephant and the 4 towers look like its legs..a must visit!!!

Not ancient, but knock out gorgeous interior, with large paintings of famous scenes and battles. The basilica provides helpful information about what you're gawking at.

Had a great walk up to the Basilica on a glorious day. The church was spectacular and the views over Lyon made the trip worthwhile.

We took the Lord Open Tours knowing we had to stop at Fourviere. We stopped St George to climb the ruins and then we walked towards the Basilica with plenty of time before the next business arrived. The Basilica was spectacular inside and out. The white color from the outside reminded me of Taj Mahal. At the back of the... More

It is quite quick to get there with the tram. Once at the top there are good views of Lyon and a restaurant where you can have a drink and watch the sun go down.
