We visited Grenoble when we came from Annecy driving to the south. The Bastille is a cool place. You can have a lunch in the restaurant and look down to the city. Joining the bubbles down to the city is a cool thing. But the city is not really beautiful. If you are planning to stay there longer, you should... More

This is a nice place to visit, specially for famillies with kids. Unfortunatelly, I could not walk up there, since I had a knee problem. The cable car is also an attraction for kids and for those who cannot walk.

We were visiting downtown Grenoble for a day and decided to go up the Bastille, and boy we were not disappointed. The cable cars are small and can seat 5 people. Once you're in the cars, the views of the city come to you and you can just sigh in awesome. It only takes a few minutes up the fort,... More

An excellent way to get a great view of the city and surrounding mountains, sadly we went in the middle of a huge thunder storm although there were some breaks in the weather that allowed us to appreciate the views. We decided to take the cable car which cost 8€ return each.

I loved the views so much I did this twice on my recent stay in Grenoble. Though it was hot and as such the pods were stuffy it was still worth every second! traveling up the mountain you see some breathtaking views and even more breathtaking at the top! a reasonable fee of 8 Euros for a round trip and... We enjoyed walking up to the Bastille with our dogs, something we used to do when our daughter was at Grenoble university, she used to run up a couple of times a week. We enjoyed refreshments in the cafe at the top and they kindly provided water for the vert thirsty dogs. We came down in the cable car which... More

I took the téléphérique up to La Bastille and walked down. Fort has great views, plus Acrobastille seemed to have plenty of kids and families having an adventure. While there, I visited the Centre d'Art Contemporain, which I really enjoyed. I also walked up to the Mandarin's Caves (blessedly cool on a hot day), which I thought were intersting given... More

Very interesting view of Grenoble up there. Walking back from the top takes a long time, better have good shoes otherwise the small rocks hurts. ;)

It may be kitschy - going up on a cable car to a castle, in Europe. But we still enjoyed it. We went there in the afternoon with our conference group, had dinner there, and came down around 11-ish at night. The daytime view was good, the night time outstanding. The place was windy even though the city was hot... More
