Bastille - Worth a visit.

This place is suited to visit alone as with a family. Restaurants, activities for big and small, even some extreme sport trials. Try climbing and walk the line.

We recently drove up to the Bastille as we knew the cable cars would not be suitable for a wheelchair. The drive up was quite an experience with a narrow road, very steep incline and plenty of hairpin bends - good clutch control and nerves of steel are required! Parking is limited and not really suited for a wheelchair user;... More

Well worth getting the bubble up the Bastille. It was a glorious clear day when I there, hard to take it all in. Even saw Mont Blanc. Be sure to walk up the hill a little and venture into the caves. I got there after lunch and got up without queues, but I noticed later in the day there was... More

Nice ride in the cart, very nice view and its cheap to get up there, military museum i guess it was turned into an expensive restaurant, no information desk so we couldn't inquire what could be done there, we have seen many signs for hiking trails there and many people were jogging

I can't believe that there could be a better way to understand the geography and geology of Grenoble than going up the Bastille. We opted to travel up by gondola, (choose the last one for the best 270 degree view) and then having visited the museum and walked through the man made caves we walked back down to Grenoble. The... You cannot go to Grenoble without going to the top. Take the cable car it is a lot easier. However you can if you wish walk to the top. Fantastic view from the top. The museum is also worth a visit.

Definitely worth visiting when in Grenoble. The views are awesome! Perfect also for kids. On top of the hill there is a restaurant, but please check opening times if you want to visit it.

Bastille offers some fantastic views of the city and surrounding mountains. It also has a museum, some restaurants and sport activities. If you are fit, you can hike up and save on the cable car!

Came back to the Bastille with my husband 3 years after we met (in Grenoble) and watched the sunset over the snowy mountains. We took panoramic photos to capture the differences in shapes of the various mountain ranges around Grenoble. This is one of our favorite spots.

Very nice view from the top to the whole city. By day or night you can appreciate it. You can reach it with the typical "balls", climbing, walking or with the stairs. It doesn't take much and it is a good experience.
