The view from the top is amazing!! Spectacular and breathtaking views of the Alps surrounding the city down below you on the confluence of two rivers .... Take the funicular up and the way down is very enjoyable to walk even with smaller children. And in the case of the beautiful weather as we had, we recommend to have a... More

The views from the top are very beautiful. We took the cable car up and walked down which didn't take too long. The cable car was cheap to take. Sadly being there on Monday the musuems weren't open. But it was great day out all the same and not to be missed if in Grenoble.

Splendid views of almost the entire city. Vistas of the surrounding mountains. Inexpensive trip via the cable ride or a healthy walk on a breazy day.

On a very warm Sunday I took the gondola to the top of the Bastille to take in the views of the Grenoble surrounds. The views were fantastic and the whole experience was worthwhile. After a drink on the terrace and a light lunch, I ventured down the 1.5 km trail back to the river. The walk down was not... More

Well, if you happen to be in Grenoble, do climb the Bastille for taking a panoramic photo of the Alpes. If you are enthusiastic enough, do the Bastille run. If you just want a pleasant experience take the cable car to the top. I promise you won't be disappointed.

During the day, there is a nice view of the city and of the surrounding mountains. From the Bastille, sports activities are possible.

I think it took me over an hour to reach the top. It wasn't very tiring, I took my time, taking plenty of breaks and admiring the view. The last 20 minutes, the climb takes you through the fort of Bastille, with brick walls and stairs, which keeps it interesting. Plenty of amenities at the top, including a museum for... More

Bastille is a perfect place from hiking since you can go from the centre, running next to the river than going up to la bastille! Furthermore, it is a great location to hang out with friends with a beautiful spot having a perfect view on Grenoble!

Panoramic view & associated history makes it a mesmerizing experience ; reaching the top through one of the first built cable- car ride ( yes, since 1934 ) & taking a hike for another hour to reach the Memorial was a worth a days trip ..., good to wear hiking gear unless you are planning for a formal lunch/ dinner...
