I recommend not taking the cable car, not because it is bad, but because there is alot that you will miss out on. There are multiple paths to get up the Bastille and each one has a different scenery, and viewing points of the city. At the top there are a few vending machines and a museum with a gift... More

Elwe came to grenoble on dec/2014 and there is almost no snow. From the Bastille you can see all the white tops of the mountains and the view is amazing. Just €7,00 return tickets for the bubble and I think the view from the the top is really worth.

The trip up is a treat in itself: using the gondola you start by flying over the river then over the right bank part of the city and then up up up the mountain... The "bubbles" as we Grenoble people affectionately call them, are 360° see through, so if you are scared of heights you may want to close your... More

Interesting museum and some musicians rehearsing when we were there ... tiring climb but that could have been down to heavy lunch

The view, especially on a sunny and clear day like today is gorgeous! Mountains painting the skyline with snow capped white. The lovely ville of Grenoble and scenic river valley are breathtaking. Whether you walk up for free or ride up, it is worth your time. I went further up the mountain toward the castle ruins on the peak, so... More

Supreme vantage point. Walk up this monument perched on a hill in under an hour and take in the sights. Boulevard Jean Jaures running the length of the city away from you and meeting the mighty alps in the distance. Mont Blanc on the distant horizon with a veil of snow that might be blowing across if the sunlight falls... More

I decided to do the walk up to the Bastille rather than take the cable car . It's a good walk up with plenty of places along the way to take in the views . Allow around an hour to go up . There's a restaurant and cafe at the top and more opportunities to take in the breathtaking views... More
