The fort on the top of the cliffs overlook Grenoble is a wonderful place for a visit and a walk along the ramparts. In the winter there can be snow, but usually the son shines and people picnic there. It gives you a wonderful view of the valley below and the reason why it was heavily fortified to protect the... If you are in Grenoble and looking for a day out, visiting Bastille is a good option. Taking the cable car is the fastest and good way to reach the place. The place offers amazing views of the city from Top. Plenty of sun shine gives the warmth & that feels very good with little gust of chill breeze flowing... More

Watching the clouds roll around from up there was spectacular. Overall, the view is amazing. You can see the mountains and all of the city.... More

A great tourist attraction giving undoubtedly the best views of Grenoble city, amazing on a clear day, you can even make out Mont Blanc in the distance. A good restaurant there also, great for a coffee or lunch or dinner. The ride up and down in the telepherique if fun but if you're feeling energetic you can walk / run... More

We decided to walk up the Bastille from the Musee acheologique and return via jar din des Dauphins and Porte de France. It was a great walk and the views were stunning. The fort de la Bastille is amazing and a tribute to its builders.

Depending the time and day, the trail can be pretty busy, but it doesn't seem too crowded. Just go at your own pace and enjoy the scenery. From the... More
