I was expecting, from some of the reviews, a rather tatty museum with lots of old stuffed animals. In fact it is well kept, excellently lit and has a quaint feel about it. The gardens are lovely as well. If you know London's Natural History Museum then think of this as a small town version. I would say it is... More

This museum of natural history is great to learn more about the Isere region. They have stuffed animals and birds that inhabit the region, and also a collection of minerals.

But this museum was nice to kill time while waiting for my friend. It is old and it has a small town feel to it, yet I did find it interesting. Some of the information about the formation of the alps was even in English. Unfortunately none of the cashiers spoke any. It worked out somehow nonetheless. I enjoyed it... More

This museum was a little side diversion my last day in Grenoble. THough not large it was very interesting because many of the displays were from the Alpine area. Yes they have some other items but the geological examples were mostly Alpine!

Unfortunately we've been to a few wonderful natural history museums and this one just could not live up to expectations. We did not spend more than 15 minutes there. It is a very basic, old fashioned museum with a few stuffed animals standing in a row behind glass. Not much explaination and no creative backdrops. Woman at the front desk... More

The museum is located in an old, but a bit noisy building. The collection is not super big so a visit doesn't have to take more than 2 hours. Audioguides in english are available for 1.5 euro.

The museum is a gorgeous building in itself, and the displays are very impressive. There is 3 floors with various exhibitions, but there is also a separate building to the side of the museum which occasionally holds temporary exhibitions which are also worth a visit. Asides from this, the museum is surrounded by beautiful gardens which are perfect for picnic-ing... More
