This hike is very pretty, has amazing views (obviously), and wasn't too long, but it was rocky. We didn't have proper hiking boots and had to be careful, but it was still doable in running shoes and made for an excellent afternoon hike.

We hiked up to Lac Blanc from Argentiere. An awesome ascent, about 3 hours worth of hiking, apparently the 'ladder trail' is a little quicker, we opted for what we thought would offer more scenery. The trail started just behind the bakery in Argentiere, very easy to find and well marked all the way. About 40 minutes up you'll hit... More

We took the gondola up from La Flegere and then made the ascension up to Lac Blanc. It was a good 2-2.5 hour hike for me, my first time out on such a venture. Yes, the views are spectacular. There were some moments that were quite unnerving for me, especially the part up from the lake to the refuge itself.... More

this walk never ceases to impress, the views across to Mt Blanc are awesome. In the summer there is a little cabin that serves great food to top a perfect day

Took the Flegere cable car and then the chairlift to start, well marked trails, and half way see Lac Blanc where you can picnic, or buy your lunch

Nice hike.We walked there from Index cable car and back from the lower station. Doable with kids (age 9), but not sure I would do it with little ones. When the weather is clear the view is wonderful.

We found the hike up from La Flégère pretty hard-going but the views along the way were stunning and what was waiting for us was absolutely amazing. It was busier than we expected as a lot of people had taken the easy stroll down from the Index chairlift but it was really rewarding for us having hiked up. There are... More

Lac Blanc is a very popular hike on the "Aiguiles Rouge" (south) side of the Chamonix Valley. It is almost always done by the use of the La Flegere cable car. You have then two options. One is to walk from the top station of the cable car to Lac Blanc (allow 1.30 to 2 hours) with an altitude difference... More

The views on the other side are a natural wonder because you can see the mont blanc and glacier right to the top.

It's certainly worth going to this spot. Little effort though you have to make to get here but in a good weather wow it's beautiful.
