The ski instructors at Les Planards were great. My son although refusing to go on one day, rejoined his group and then came on leaps and bounds. I was a beginner and the group was... read more

Because I wanted to be able to keep up with my friends, I took two Snowboard lessons, starting off with "David" and later with his cousin "Tim". In both cases the instructors were patient and clear with their instructions, and also a good laugh! Results-wise, I feel I progressed surprisingly far in only 2 lessons. I should also mention the... Spent 4 days skiing in Chamonix in les Houches and decided to book 2 mornings of lessons of 3.5 hours each for a private group of 7 people. The lessons were aimed at a beginner’s level. It was very quickly evident that our instructor seemed very disinterested and lacked enthusiasm from day one. It doesn't seem as if these instructors... More

It was half term, it was busy, I should have known better. I'm an ESF veteran myself, I don't expect nose-wiping and cuddles from the staff teaching our little darlings, but I do expect the group to have not started the lesson before the allocated time, and to progress 2eme etoile group beyond snakes of snowplough across the slope after... Spent 3 days skiing in Chamonix and signed up for the group guiding. The groups were small and the guides excellent. Not only did they know the mountains but also were great at arranging transportation, lunch, and reservations on the trams. They made what would have been a crazy experience skiing Chamonix into something very different. Local knowledge is everything!

The ski instructors at Les Planards were great. My son although refusing to go on one day, rejoined his group and then came on leaps and bounds. I was a beginner and the group was mixed but there was no pressure on me to keep up with the others in the group and I was allowed to progress at my... More

While there was some good teaching the very poor organisation was obvious. The child lessons are an hour and a half shorter than the adult lessons they where in different locations some over 30 mins away meaning that 8-14 year olds being left. As a result we had a 14 year old girl left on the mountain for four hours... More

ESF Chamonix Le Savoy...especially Gil and Fred and the ladies at the ESF office near the church you where a huge plus for our first experience in Chamonix. Perfect organisation, very friendly people, excellent service and teachers! Our daughter Helena took her very first course with the Piou Piou section and Gil very patiently showed her the way and my... More

Me and my girlfriend came to Chamonix for a couples snowboarding holiday. I've been snowboarding before but for my other half this was the first time. We called ahead of or trip and arranged private lessons with ESF for beginners. It was arranged to be picked up from our hotel and learn on the slopes. The gent that picked us... More

My brother and I came to Chamonix after not skiing much for a few years. We booked a 6x half day group lessons with ESF. One of the minor issues with the booking with ESF was figuring out our ski level. The website has 4 levels. We are both confident blue run skiers and could handle some reds. This put... More

Recently sent our 4 year old to ski school at Les Plannards, Chamonix. Whilst our son enjoyed it, he was often bored and left standing with no idea of what he should be doing or where he should be going next. There were a number of instructors in the "Ski Garden", who all had a varying levels of interest in... More
