We went with a guide from Compagnie des guides de Chamonix-Mont Blanc. A fabulous day but you must be able to ski moguls!
A fabulous experience & the most amazing scenery, you get visual over load as it is just so amazing. I was nervous about the walk down the ridge, but Nicolas was so professional, yet warm & friendly that I totally trusted him. He knows the area like the back of his hand & without a doubt he added to our... More
If you can confidently ski black runs then hire a guide and get out into the Valley Blanche for a superb off piste adventure. The adrenalin kicks in as soon as you step out onto the ice ridge at the top of the Aiguille du Midi, crampons on, roped together, skis on your back..... Just do it!
Desiree, Fiona, and the highly professional staff make this cozy hotel - in the most idyllic location in the gorgeous Chamonix - a very pleasant place to stay. You will be thrilled to awake to the sight of Mont Blanc, and eat breakfast while looking at the rippling mountain stream below. This is a rare and wonderful place to stay.
We skied the Vallee Blanche from Courmayeur. We had an outstanding guide named Anna from the Courmayeur Alpine Guide Society (office is near the church in Courmayeur village). Anna picked us up and drove to the Funivie Courmayeur Hellbron where we were given safety harnesses and avalanche beacons. a very cloudy day in the valley, going up the Funivie, we... More
Please do not do this excursion unless you are an expert skier and in tremendous physical shape. I consider myself an above average skiier of 40 plus years, but the Vallee Blanch with fresh powder was extremely physical and was probably above my limitation. I survived the the excurions none the less and am not unhappy that I completed the... More
Make sure you dont suffer from agrophobia!!. The views are fantastic. If you can manage the walk down the ridge line at the top then the skiing is really worth it.......until you have to walk out up a steep hill (be prepared!!)
We were blessed with excellent weather following a dump of about six inches of snow. After the stunning ride to the top of the Aguille du Midi we spent some time viewing the views! The walk down the ridge is pretty exposed but we were securely attached to the guide as everyone should be. Then skied the powder....if only we... More
An excellent day never to forget. To Aiguille de Midi 7 o'clock in the morning with a beatiful sunrise burning all the clouds away. A nice ski trip whith some deep drops in the very soft snow under the ice surface, at least for the two grad fathers, nearly 65 years old. All the children and grand child made their... More
This was the best day skiing ever- if you go the chamonix you must do this the journey up is awesome but the ride down is perfect!
