We have been up Aiguille du Midi before, however on our recent honeymoon in Les Houches we bought a 3 consecutive pass which included lots of attractions as well as Aiguille du Midi so we decided it would be great to do this again. Unfortunately the day we chose to go up it was very cloudy, so once at the... More

Beautiful day, views were stunning, plenty to look at up top, good walking at mid station. Cafe very expensive. Liked that is was free to stand in the glass box for a photo!

I have been on the lift 3 times at different times of year and it is a truly great experience! To ascend a real Alpine peak in the luxury of a cable car and to be able to view the beauty which traditionally only experienced mountaineers have experienced is truly a Privilege. I have been up there in glorious bright... More

We stayed in Annecy and drove over to Chamonix in the hope that the weather would break and get an amazing view. We got there very early having read that the crowds become appalling the later you leave it. However we got lucky and the views from the top were simply breathtaking. It does cost €56 per head, which is... More

The views from the cable car travelling up to Aiguille du Midi are fantastic. To see the snow glistening below with tiny tents dotted around and many tracks where climbers start their climb of Mont Blanc is fantastic. Then to look up to the peak of Mont Blanc and see tiny pin heads of climbers accomplishing their dream is superb.... More

After two days of rain in Chamonix, the weather finally broke. We set out at 7:30am with the promise of a cloud-free day. We purchased the Mont-Blanc multi-pass for 56 Euro and headed straight for the Aiguille du Midi. Because we arrived at the lift early (8:00am) and despite warnings that crowds would be fierce on this, the first sunny... More

Despite arriving early in the morning around 9am we had a long wait in a queue- so go early! Fortunately, we were blessed with a calm, sunny day which was perfect for taking 100's of photos. Be prepared for a spectacular ascent covering 20 minutes in cable car ride with 70 odd people. The ohhs and ahhs were continuous especially as... More

I walked from the glacier to the cable car and took the cable car to the top. Spectacular views! Watched crazy people of the side of the snowy mountain and almost got my fill of the French Alps. We had just come from the Swiss Alps and no offense to the Swiss, I felt that the French Alps were more... More

We visited Aiguille du Midi on a perfect morning, filled with bright sunlight and no clouds. For me, it was the only way to see it. Here, as usual, is my balanced review and critical top tips based on the mixed opinions of my family during our visit. Here's what we liked: The two cable cars up to the summit... More
