Scenery is breathtaking, trains service is very good when available, bus services are more frequent. The whole area has a quaint feel about it. Communication can be an issue if you don't speak French, something they will have to come to terms with if they want the tourists here. All in all a nice place to visit

Highly recommend the Chamonix-Mont-Blanc area for skiers and snowboarders. There are 4 ski area within 15 minutes driving and the as famous Courmayeur ski slopes in Italy within 25 minutes driving. The areas differ in difficulty, height and exposure, so always something available for all level skiers and for all(most) all weather. Their is wonderful off-piste skiing for the very... More

The Mer de Glace is the largest glacier in Europe - 7kms in length, and is moving at 1cm an hour. Amazing. We loved the cog tram up to the glacier, and then it was a steep descent to the glacier by cable car and then about 400 steps. Eerie, as you can hear the glacier crack with its movement... More

Would highly recommend this skiing resort to any of my friends, the food is good and not too expensive like Geneva. When on the slopes, the idyllic views of the mountains are stunning, especially if it is a sunny day when one can snap away beautiful photos. Chamonix is definitely on my list to revisit. Brian

I have been to Chamonix twice, first time in Summer and second time in Winter and it was a great experience both time. If you are visiting during Summer then you have nice view of all snow mountains from top i.e. Aiguille du Midi and during winter entire Chamonix is filled with snow and there are lot of options for... Chamonix is the coolest place in the Alps. skiing is legendary in this area, but the town is just perfect, picturesque with an amazing array of shops for retail therapy, expensive but worth it! Try Poco Loco, MBC, and many more of the coolest food outlets in Europe.

In Christmas, the view is very beautiful superb, so breathtaking..that was not the first time I saw the snow but looking it in the high altitude place - more than 1000meter high hmm... so wonderful. We can go up to 2000meter by telepheric and see the view more from the high place just in front of Mont Blanc, eating lunch... More

I had been to Geneva several times and was looking for a nice weekend getaway to somewhere I had not been before. Although there are many easy trips from Geneva , I wanted to try somewhere new, out of a city, and cool (as I was in Europe during an very unusual heat wave in July). I took a bus... More

We had a family holiday, arriving just before Xmas and leaving a few days later. Good to see free parking at lots of places, eg the ski slopes near the train station. The facilities are probably second to none. The one HUGE disgusting, revolting, and health risk aspect of the whole experience is the local tradition of dog-owners allowing their... More
