Came here on holiday, ended up moving here :) Still not tired of the insanely epic views of both sides of the mountains from this gorgeous valley town. Great boarding in winter, beautiful hikes in the warm summers. Please if you are travelling here, use your car as little as possible- stick to the free buses and trains or hire... More

Take the cable car up and up and up to the top of Europe for an amazing experience. See the Alps from the top of the Alps.

Hadn't been to Chamonix for a while and went for a long weekend. Brilliant to be able to go by train all the way in a day, so top marks for that. However, the place has become a rip off with poor service and high prices. The bus service round town is rubbish. We twice had to wait 30 minutes... More

Chamonix is like a mini Switzerland town. Its a small town but with plenty to do and see. I went in summer so got a chance to do short walks after taking the train up. Be careful with bringing up young kids to the highest level. Due to the low oxygen level, they may get dizziness. But otherwise, the view... More

Just spent Easter in Chamonix. We skied Brevent-flegere, grand montets, les Houches,de balme and courmyauer in Italy. I ski regularly in Austria and there the investment in 21st century lifts is clear. In. Chamonix all over the lifts, save for a few, are from the Iron Age. How is it possible that there is no ongoing investment by the lift... More

The drive itself from Bex, Switzerland to Chamonix was wonderful - when we got into town, stopped near top of hill (next to the chair lifts) above the city and walked around the hiking trails with wonderful views of Chamonix. Mont Blanc is stunning. We plan to come to spend more time here.

The place is beautiful but if you are looking at hotel not in the city then there are many good locations along the train route from Chamonix to Vallorcine. You can check all train stations and accordingly locate hotels also. The train and bus is free for people staying in hotels with the pass given by hotel for the duration... More

Under -10 degree Celsius I had the most cold unforgettable experience in my life! It was last December in Chamonix - Mont Blanc! If you're a Winter lover don't miss it, an amazing romantic village between the French Alps, if you ski it's a plus for your trip, if you don't just admire the nature, go up to the "Aiguille... We booked our airport transfer to Chamonix over the internet. They acknowledged that there had been a mistake and we were overcharged 52.18 euros but would not refund the money. I emailed and phoned them but "customer service" said it was an "IT" issue. We are 2 travellers from Canada. We booked a return trip over the internet and got... More
