We only stayed for 3 nights and didn't ski. We booked a one day Mont Blanc Unlimited pass so we could go up to Aguille du Midi and take the Montenvers train but the snow was so heavy and the Avalanche risk so high, that most of the lifts were closed. I booked the passes in advance which, with hindsight,... More

Beautiful mountains is one thing but this charming village is the most wanted "eldorado" for dedicated skiers from all around the world. The skiing is split up into five different parts and the fifth one, Aiguille du midi is not really an alpine alternative, but the most fantastic skiing over the glacier, ending up in a glacier museum built into... If you are lucky enough to ascend to the ski fields and the weather is clear you are surrounded by a most beautiful mountain landscape. Jagged craggy tops sprinkled with snow like icy sugar on a pastry. Fir trees sprayed white like department store Christmas trees. Clear blue skies that you could cut with a knife.

The village is so French Swiss! Such a nice place to visit even if you don't ski. Good restaurants and a great town to stroll around the street and enjoy the shops. We were there in September and there was a Flea Market open in the downtown area that was a lot of fun. We took the tram to the... More

Unforgettable experience, not to be missed, very well organized valley very clean and full of life, with a large choice of world-class ski resorts, snowboarding on that pow snow was fantastic. Although alpine restaurants were too expensive (onion soup + beers FOR 2 at 50 EUR) but the scenery of the Mont Blanc was breathtaking. Make sure not to miss... More

Visited this superb place in Jan end along with my family. All had very good fun, kids loved playing in snow. There was snow falls, slight rain and snow every where. Nearly 2 ft snow were there and we had a great amount of fun. Ski lifts and the galcier trains were not working both days due to snow fall,... More

The atmosphere in Chamonix is like nowhere else. A valley surrounded by dramatic mountains, including Mont Blanc. A real sight to behold. You have a sense of real lovers of the mountains being around you, with all manner of alpine adventures planned. Found by an Englishman there is now a lovely symbiotic relationship between the fresh and the english, working... More

1st time on a ski holiday with family and friends. Chamonix is breathtakingly beautiful with a range of amazing slopes to suit all levels. We loved Balme but also visited Les Hooch and ventured through the Mont Blanc tunnel to try the Italian slopes. The town is clean and fresh and a pleasure to walk through. Public transport is great... More

Lovely, happening ski resort with access to some fantastic off-piste. This town is full of everything you need and more. The food is great, the residents are really friendly, the bars are fun and the river running through the town is so picturesque.
