A slow silent trip across the top of a glacier, watching the roped up walkers hiking to mountain refuges below is quite unreal. You are travelling over the start of the Mere de Glacé.

After that it opens only after winter, so that affected all my planning just so I would cover this journey.... More

We had a clear day but up the top it was cold, windy but exhilarating, this is a must do at Chamonix as the view is breathtaking. Also be mindful that the oxygen is thin at this altitude so you may feel some dizziness as we did.

Amazing! It's a little scary like everyone else has said and once at the edge I had to make my husband pull me out lol but so worth it! You don't really have time to get scared because it's a really quick turn that a group of up to 4 gets to do it. They make you wear slippers to... More

This is the best way for gettin up to the top. Little bit expensive though. There is one ride every 15 min. We would recommend to eat at the first chalet instead of eating on top of the MB.

It's a little bit scary to go up there in the telecabine because it's so high but the experience is great.

This had amazing views over the glacier from Aiguille du Midi. Disappointed that we could not alight in Helbronner due to station refurb and it was a little cheeky that they still charged the same. Also a shame it's not included in the Mont Blanc Multipass but despite both these things, on the last day of service, 1st Sept, my... More

Worth the extra fee once at the top but the view of the glaciers was amazing. It gave you a good view of the aiguille du midi and put it all in perspective

It is lovely in the summer to take a telecabin to the top and then a nice long walk in cooler air, taking in magnificent views. Perfect for a fit family. Take good comfortable sports shoes! A picnic works but there is also the possibility to dine up top. Take advice about where to go.
