One of the highlights of my life when we first did this in 1998. We returned in 2005 and hired a guide who led us across the Vallee Blanche (roped together and in crampons) from L'Aiguille du Midi into Italy, then returned via this gondola. INCREDIBLE!! Only do it if it's a clear day, though! (I had to submit the... More

Indeed panoramique! You can see the whole Vallee Blanche, the peaks of Chamonix, the incredible crevases and a part of the glacier Mer de Glace. You can observe mountaineers coming from Mont Blanc and how slow they advance in the snow. And only after that you can see the greatness of the place.

Loved the view of the Glacier, Les Grandees Jorasses, Mont Blanc and L'Aguile du Midi. Telecabine didnt stop in Italy as advertised (due to construction on the Italian side). High winds made the photo stops a little nerve wracking (we're well used to chair lifts/cable cars from Skiing), but still a fantastic trip and unparalleled views of alpine classics.

My wife and I ventured up the cable cars to Italy despite the Sunday crowds. The weather was great with clear blue skies offsetting fantastic views of Mt Blanc and the surrounding Alps. The small gondolas were a welcome change from the packed cable cars since you could sit & enjoy the ride with only 4 people per car. There... More

If you go all the way to Aiguille du Midi, do not miss this breathtaking ride! It was so amazing that I couldn't believe how few people were doing it. I was on the verge of running up to other visitors and pleading them to go for the ride:) It absolutely worth every cent.

This is a different view of the area and Mont Blanc than the Aiguille du Midi. Should do both...even have lunch and drinks at 11,000 feet. Nice people and nice restaurant up there.

Its really amazing experience to walk so high and see all those peeks around. Although first 1 hour i had troubles getting used to lower amount of oxygen - i was pale and feeling dizzy almost to faint. But after while, I got over it and really enjoyed it. I can only recommend it!

A slow silent trip across the top of a glacier, watching the roped up walkers hiking to mountain refuges below is quite unreal. You are travelling over the start of the Mere de Glacé.

“Heaven, when you forget everything Your age, your problem –only have good feeling Snow and snow everywhere I wish you will be here” That was 1st September 2013- the last day before closing of the Panoramic Mont Blanc cable car. After that it opens only after winter, so that affected all my planning just so I would cover this journey.... More
