Excellent for families with small kids, we had lots of fun, my kids took skiing lessons and loved it. Fair prices for lessons and to rent ski gear.

Nice drive from Annecy up to Le Semnoz. Went in summer. On a clear day there is a great view including the Mont Blanc region. You drive up (or cycle up as they do in the Tour de France and many very fit cyclists do) and can park just below the summit. There is a 5 minute walk to the... More

My fiancee and I went up Le semnoz by Car, There wasn't much view as we drive up to the top. There were plenty of campsite, a deer santuary, some cow farms and many hiking routes but when we reach the top after parking our vehicle where everyone parks, we climb about 500m up to the top of Le Semnoz,... We drove up from Annecy through a winding road. It was well worth it. The views once up there were amazing. We could not eat at one of the restaraunts up there because we did not have reservations, but we did buy some sandwhiches next door with almost the same views. We should have bought some sandwiches or picnic items... More

We cycled up Semnoz. I wouldn't recommend it if you want to remain fresh as a daisy but the views were stunning and it took a lot less time to cycle down compared to the time taken to go up.

Our family with 2 kids headed up to Semnoz to find a hike. We took a bit of a round about route and came up the back side on a windy, narrow but beautiful road. Stopped at the top and preceded to 'hike'. A bit more of a walk really, but you need good shoes as the rocks on the road... More

If like us, you gaze at a map for a couple minutes looking for somewhere to go for a cuople of hours to get away from the campsite or hotel etc, then Le Semnoz is an ideal location from the Annecy area. The road up, the D41 from near Annecy Old Town area, is well maintained and a relatively simple... More

Rode our bikes to the top of this mountain, which will be the next to final stage of the 2013 TdF. There is a small restaurant on top which was very good, and will be completely swamped with people in July!

Great little ski resort and outing . you can even catch the bus from central annecy. the ski resort is small but cosy and if you don't ski you can do plenty of other stuff there.

Get a map from the tourist office or your hotel. Walk up to the Basilica, and then climb the road up behind it to find the trailhead on the right. There's a map at the entrance, and it's easy to make the loop around the mountain - I would suggest going to the right (away from the lake) first -... More
