Only half an hour drive from Annecy we were so pleased we took the time to come up the mountain and it is an easy drive with a good road.At the top on a sunny day in May we had clear 365 degree views. To Mont Blanc and the French/Swiss/Italian alps and towards Lyon, it was just stunning. I have... More

From the top of the Semnoz there is an amazing view of our beautiful Haute Savoie, from the Mont Blanc to nearly as far as Lyon on a clear day. It is a half hour drive to the top. In the Summer look out for the bus from Annecy it is well worth the time to go. Take a picnic.... More

This was a tough climb (at least for me) from the lake, but worth the effort for the view. The descent wasn't bad either.

Great attraction but the snow season is dead. There no snow. Beautiful scenery. Beautiful and breathtaking location.

I always take my visitors up to the top of Semnoz to see the view of the mountains and the three lakes (Bourget, Annecy, Leman). It's a family friendly ski resort in winter (you can pay by the hour) although it can become a little crowded. Nice restaurant too (Les rochers blancs). Nice for a little excursion around Annecy, picnics... More

Le Semnoz, overlooking Annecy. A beautiful place. Sadly our old friends Les Couttets are no longer in that chalet. Ammonier died some time back. His tommes were excellent and greatly appreciated. We might take a trip up next time we are in the region.

We made the tour through the small roads from Annecy and the view of the lake is spectacular. A very beautiful and pleasant drive.

We drove to Semnoz after a hike in a nearby area as we wanted to get a good view of Mt Blanc. We parked in the carpark and then walked the approx 500m up the final part of Semnoz. Unfortunately the cloud cover was obscuring the summit of the "white mountain" that day but it was great to be up... More

I grew up climbing these mountains and it never get old. Always something new to see and do. So many different hike routes to do with different things to see. Easy to access but car and foot.

An interesting but not too taxing road will take you up to Le Semnoz past some lovely high meadows. Great views at the top and information boards to help you pick out the surrounding peaks. Beautiful views and very well worth your time.
