My boyfriend and I parked at Belchamp and hiked up to the refuge Rosairy. The hike was more difficult than expected, especially the descent due to the small stones on the trail, but feasible with a bit of effort. The first half was mostly in the forest, and the second half was out in the open. The sign said it... More

The trip is said to take about 6 hrs in total, we spent almost 8 hrs before we were back by the car. There's a lot of incline to begin with, so we had rapid breaks during the hike. Such a beautiful view once you gain some height, but be ware of sudden changes in weather as we experienced a... More

I did the Tournette with my MTB. The north trail is almost not rideable at all. Also it's the steeper trail. If you want to ride the Tournette, better stick to the trail to Montmin on the south side. This one is mostly rideable but very technical, sometimes slippery and always very steep. You need good freeride tires, full suspension... More

Although I live right beside La Tournette, I've only hiked it fully twice. The Lake (Montmin) side is the fastest and therefore busiest trail. The back trail (Serreval) is interesting as it passes a lovely mountain refuge where you can also stay for the night (with hot showers and great dinner/breakfast deals!). Their flock of goats graze the high pastures... More

To get the best view of Lac d` Annecy and over to the great Mt Blanc, this is the spot. Takes about 6 hours up and down from the parking place, this includes several pauses and a relatively slow pace. Just amazing, can't really discribe this in words - must be experienced!

Better start the walk in the morning to enjoy it entirely. The hike is not very difficult but a bit dangerous at the end. The best part of it are the ibex looking at you at some parts of the hike. At the end the view of Annecy lake is a one time occasion.

I hiked La Tournette with my ten year old son in late June. To get to the trail head a car is necessary. From Annecy it is a 20-30 minute drive along the lake to the small town on Montmin. In Montmin, there is a small turn off up a steep hill with a sign labeled La Tournette Haute Savoie.... More

Must be in shape for this one, can be challenging but its worth every step towards the summit, where you can look up to a magnificent neighbor the Mt. Blanc
