A stunning lake that has been maintained. Great running and cycling routes around the lake. Many many little pubs and restaurants on the waters edge make it a great place to explore. Swimming and loads of water sports available. No litter, well kept and friendly people.

I loved the lake of Annecy, the city is very beautiful it has nice canals and the big lake, the architecture is beautiful, the place is very small, you can walk all around it in one day. I went when they had the Venice Festival, and this made it even better as people dress in elegant costumes and were the... More

We were only in the town for 2 hours, but it would have been very easy to spend the whole day walking around. There was shopping, boat trips, paddle boats and the scenery is just amazing. The water was also great for a swim. There is bike hire or rollerblades (who still uses those?) available for hire with plenty of... More

Although the starting point and terminus for the lake trip is Annecy, you can get on or off at any of the resorts round the lake. The trips go in a clockwise direction so, if you get on at the other end of the lake, you will have to get off at Annecy for at least a couple of hours... More

This lake and the surrounding area offers just about everything: hiking, walking, kayaking, paddleboats, power boat rentals, bicycling, Segway tours, mini-golf, the list goes on.

You can rent a boat for 60-80euros/hour. You don't need a permit because the motors , even though they are strong enough for a pleasant ride, are not big enough that you need a permit. Make sure to go early in the morning ( 10am). This was the highlight of our 19day European tour. The water was 20 degrees, refreshing... More

Lake Annecy is beautiful all year round. Great spot for a picnic. Wonderful for swimming in the warmer months, and a spectacular place for kayaking. The water is transparent in most places. One thing I love about the lake is that there are so many different locations/beaches around it that every week you can go to a different spot for... More

Stayed in Annecy and rented a boat to take out on the lake. Beautiful views of the town and the castle, and the mountains surrounding the lake. Water was warm enough for swimming and pretty clear too.

Take a stroll around the lake and sit in the park and watch the activities, a wonderful experience. Great scenery.
