Went there on a sunny calm mid-week day, walked up from the port, only to find it shut! Reading the opening times on the wall it should have been open, as best I could tell from the French sign. Somewhat mystified why it wasn't operating.

A breath taking view of Toulon, a nice way to spend a sunny afternoon, a good little restaurant with reasonable prices, a small but Nice Zoo (small charge) , not to be missed when on a weekend in Toulon.

We eventually made it up on the third go, after trying to walk there. Don't be fooled by Google's Maps directions - the straight line it tells you to go up is designed for rock climbers and fools! I would recommend to stay away at night - a couple of times there were some unsavoury-looking people up there and we... More

This was the last stop on our cruise. It was a wonderful time for us to relax and enjoy the scenery. One of the most wonderful things about the area is to take in all the wonderful fragrances. Before leaving downtown, we found a tourist information shop outside the market and bought a ticket that included the bus, the cable... More

We enjoyed some free time to go to the top of Mt Faron overlooking the city of Toulon. The view is nice (but you're overlooking an industrial harbor) and the cable car is quaint. Service on the car was perfunctory, but competent. From downtown Toulon, take the #40 bus to the Telepherique... about a 20 minute ride. You can pick... More

We decided up the mont Faron on a Sunday based on the review from trip advisor and I must admit this one of the best afternoon we spent on our holiday in the south of France . The views are breath taking and the slow ascent makes you greatly appreciate the view of Toulon and far away too. We had... More

If you are vsiting Toulon, we recommend going on the Telepherique to Mont Faron. At the Tourist Office in Toulon, you can buy day tickets for 6 Euro that includes unlimited bus travel around Toulon, unlimited boat-bus travel to the nearby islands AND includes the Telepherique. They will tell you which bus goes to the Telepherique. We went with children... More

On a clear day do use the cablecar and enjoy the marvellous views across the bay and down the coast. Once you are up there the paths are not well made or signed. There are picnic tables amidst the trees and a couple of cafes. With a bit more effort this could be made into a much better and longer... More

We went to the Mont Faron with cable car and it was a funky ride with a Fantastic view over Toulon harbour and surroundings. On top a expensive little restaurant, a museum for the 2 w.w. And a zoo.
