If you are serious about learning French, this is the place to go. It is an immersion course in which you spend 8 hours a day in school learning the language. You also have breakfast and lunch there in order to make the system more effective. Their focus is primarily to get you to speak the language as fast as... More

Extraordinary experience. I can't believe that there are better french educators anywhere. How else could a month of 8-hour days learning/improving French fly by. This is not a program for the faint of heart, or those looking for a please month in the sun with some French thrown in. But if you are seriously interested in learning or improving your... More

Unique foreign language program. If you want to improve your spoken French skills, this is the place for you. The focus is on speaking, so you will spend less time listening to the instructor speaking, as in most programs, and more time drilling patterns yourself. More

I attended the Institut de Français for three months in 2008, as preparing for a diplomatic posting to Paris. Others have commented on the lovely setting, the elegant villa, and the familial ambience of the school, all of which is true. I will restrict my comments to the quality of the learning experience. Quite simply, I believe that the Institut... More

If you are interested in learning French or improving your French skills this is an excellent school. The instructors are encouraging and engage you in conversation even if you are a total beginner. If you are looking for a fun, stress free language vacation this is NOT the place to go. This is a serious immersion program. The school gardens... More

I recently attended the Institut de Français in July 2010, and can honestly say it was an incredible experience. The school and faculty are top-notch! This is a school that emphasizes speaking French, so if you are looking for improving in this area, this school is for you. The location is absolutely beautiful, and I met amazing friends as well.... Ideal way to spend four weeks: Engaging study of a beautiful language all day with fascinating fellow students and attentive faculty in an elegant villa. Lunch breaks with fresh food in a room overlooking the bay and framed by gardens. Evening walks through the old village and resting in the evening in the large luxury apartment the institute arranged for... More

The Institut charges top dollar and is usually filled with people who want a "learning vacation" in the south of France. If that's what you're after, this is the place. More

I thoroughly enjoyed my 4 weeks here. The location is perfect, it's so easy to explore the Cote d'Azur from this base with such a good public transport network. The atmosphere in the school is great. It's very sociable, with activities arranged for evenings also. I had always believed that I didn't have an aptitude for languages, but now I... More
