Owner description: It took Baroness Béatrice Ephrussi de Rothschild, one of the most original women on the French Riviera, seven years to build one of the most beautiful sites on the Côte d’Azur. An enlightened art enthusiast who travelled back and forth across France and Europe, Béatrice de Rothschild built up an incomparable and eclectic collection of masterpieces: priceless Sèvres and Vincennes porcelain, works by Fragonard, paintings by the masters (Boucher, Carpaccio, Tiepolo, etc.), Louis XVI furniture, and so on.

We love coming back here, our daughter has been coming here's since she can walk. We are in love of the villa, the shape of a boat, 7 gardens with different themes. The work of arts are exquisite. Although perhaps some have been altered, but one can still feel the woman's of fhe house passion for collecting the finest arts... More

A really interesting venue, where Lady Rothschild spend huge amounts of money creating great gardens and a somewhat odd but interesting house. Guess that's the sort of person she was. In November it is only open from 2pm, and there is nothing nearby so don't arrive early. Lots to see, especially the musical garden is amazing

We would not have known of this spectacular place but for a friend at home who recommended it to us when he found out we would be visiting Villefranche for a day on our cruise. The garden were unbelievable, even in mid-October. I can't imagine how beautiful they are in Spring and Summer. The desert garden was quite unususal and... More

The villa is beautiful by itself with classic rooms, paintings, tapestries, and porcelain. But wait until you get into the gardens! You'll pass nine of them: from Rose to Japanese, from Spanish to Stone, and more. The place is beautifully cared for and wait to see the music fountains. Yes, it's not Bellagio but well done nevertheless. And then enjoy... More

The Villa is amazing and the gardens are just as amazing. Every 20 minutes the fountain goes off accompanied by music. This villa is on the peninsula so there are great views of the water in both directions. Beatrice thought of everything when she constructed this place. Normally restaurants or cafes in tourist sites have mediocre food at best. This... More

This attraction is very easy to access from Nice on the No 52 bus - which currently costs E1.50 per journey. The villa stands on top of the ridge of Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat with views all around of this most beautiful of coasts. The villa is full of art works collected by Beatrice Ephrussi de Rothschild, who was not short of a... More

This place can be compared with Capri or Sorrento in beauty! You could spend hours watching the sea and the panoramic scenery below, with just a hint of soft wind on your face as a companion. There are several different gardens around the villa, French, Japanese, Stone etc. to visit and nice fountains with music performances at times. Relaxing to... More

Oh to have money. An easy bus ride from Nice to this most glorious pink villa, the palatial creation of Beatrice Ephrussi de Rothschild, perched high on St Jean-Cap-Ferrat amongst magnificent gardens and overlooking the turquoise waters of the Mediterranean. We chose to wander through the gardens in the relative coolness of the morning before venturing indoors. Pathways meander from... More

It is one of the best places to visit on the French Riviera. It is two in one - museum and botanic garden, plus spectacular panoramic views. It is located between Nice and Monaco. It has long opening hours and it can easily be reached by car or public transportation ( line 81, "Plage de Passable" stop).
