This is the main beach of Nice which will be walking distance from most places you stay or you can catch the tram. The water is an amazing aqua blue, there a a couple of volleyball courts set up along the beach too which is great. Only this is being the South of France it is a rocky beach which... More

Love the ambiance but the comfort of the seats leave a lot to be desired. Take water (discreetly) with you and a fan if it is a warm day as it can get very hot and stuffy inside. Make sure you can see from the seat that you have paid for, like everywhere, some have restricted views. Lots of stairs... More

We went to a short Sunday morning matinee performance by the L'Orchestre Philharmonique de Nice which was a great way to visit the opera house and see a performance. The music was wonderful and greatly appreciated by a full house. Great to see so many people out taking advantage of the opportunity to listed to the orchestra play.

As much as the opera is beautiful to look at, seeing a performance is not the best. Might as well go for the best of seats if you want to enjoy it. Sitting in the levels gave me severe vertigo, we had to sit somewhere else. The top level is very limited and from the sides you cannot see a... More

If you are in Nice and have the opportunity to go to the Opera then you must. Apart from the many ballets, operas etc that you may have the chance to see, to visit the theatre itself is an amazing experience. It is like stepping back in time to a mini Albert Hall in London where almost every member of... More

This is a beautiful building, inside and out, worth a visit. It also has a great location and can be included in a tour of some of the different sites the city has to offer.

It is amazing that the internet now enables us to book tickets for ballet and concerts in Nice as easily as in our home towns. The Opera de Nice has an efficient booking engine, and collecting tickets from the box office is so much easier than any other theatre I have used in France. The building itself is on the... More

we attended a performance of an opera by Cilla, A.Lecouvrier. The performance was most enjoyable and the setting superb.BUT the leg room in the balcony is appalling and talking to regular ( French) opers gouers the only reasonably comfortable seats are in the stalls

This is a wonderfully small opera house, where most of the seats give good views of the stage. The Lower, Dress and Upper Circle are all boxes within which some of the seats are quite tired and could really do with reupholstering. The interior decoration is stunning: loads of red velvet and a wonderfully painted ceiling. There are limited toilet... More
