Plenty of places to eat, many less expensive than the modern areas. Local fish is good. Small shops, though difficult to find a real bargain there.

I love the narrow streets, all the different restaurants, the way you can get lost just wandering around, I love to browse at the various small markets, I love the small shops. And the best thing is that even though there are lost of tourist, the food is usually still good, as... More

We went there many times in our stay in Nice, both for the restaurants and the walks in the little streets. Amazing ambiance "vieille Europe". Day and night, theres always something going on. Lot of restaurants and shops. Between Place Masséna and the beach.

The old town manages to keep its charming atmosphere despite the hoards of tourists. The restaurants are busy, but they never compromise on quality - the set menus are excellent value and you are never rushed through your delicious meal.

I guess we just fell in love with this area and spent every day/night here while in Nice. Ate dinner there every night. Explored the alleyways. It's a very vibrant area - loads of restaurants and they are all brimming with people. We were there during the World Cup which added to the excitement.

The old quartier is home of restaurants, shops and traditional French marchés where you can find flowers, fruits & vegetables as well as antiquities on Monday mornings till midday. You'll find traditional and modern shops if you're in for some shopping. At night, live bands and street artists take over and will make sure you're enjoying you're evening along with... More

We purchased art, soap, postcards and would have purchased a dress if I could have found my way back to the store where I originally saw it. A lovely old church was hidden between old buildings and bought chocolate from a family owned store that boasted of being in operation since the 1820's.

Lovely old town and especially the flower market on the cours saleya. Please do try a piece of the so called socca, the savoury crepes of chickpea flour they sell everywhere. the souvenir shops are great for olive oil, candied fruits and Marseille soaps

Easy to get around by tram or on foot. Beach close by. Lots of restaurants. No shortage of budget places to eat
