The highlight of Nice

Yes, it is full of tourists. But there is a good reason. Wandering in the small streets is simply mesmerizing, and a welcome cooler place to be on a hot sunny day.

Old town Nice has a special place in my heart. It is by far my favorite place in the entire world. First, its beautiful. But what I love about it is that the people are much more friendly here than in the neighboring Monaco. There are some great cafes to grab and sandwich and walk over to the beach. Beware... More

Touristy but interesting - lots of shops selling cheap tat but also some which clearly have a history, all in narrow twisting streets which are buzzing. Massive contrast to the main shopping areas which are full of designer labels!

I just love old town Nice, it would be one of the major reasons why I decide to holiday in the area every year! What I particularly like about it is that it's not overly touristy but the locals also seem to spend their time around here. The fab choice of restaurants will have you spoilt for choice (I HIGHLY... Oh my goodness, we had no idea the amount of stairs and climbing entailed with this location, but well, well worth it. Midway up, we thought we'd collapse, but kept going....about 3/4 up the way is a magnificent water fall which blows off a really cooling breeze. Definitely add this to your "must do" list in Nice, but be warned,... More

I could spend all day here. There is lots of things to see and do for young and old alike. You can eat alfresco in one of the 100's of retaurants and cafes, window shop in the lovely boutique style shops and take the kids to the parks area where there is a lovely playground and water fountains to keep... Walking around the olde town was interesting and relaxing. No one is in a hurry and there are always cafes for stopping and refreshing while people-watching.

There are two faces to the old town. Tourist hell and pleasant ambience. If you get up early it's a nice place to be - plenty of history and great nooks and cranny's. Later it's a tourist trap and simply pretty awful.

I love old towns. Spent 3 hours walking through the narrow streets of Nice this morning. Today was very warm but because the streets a very narrow it was pleasant walking through the streets looking into the old buildings and church
