Walked from Le Meridien to the museum, around 30 minutes and through really cute areas (as far as I'm concerned, that description works for all of Nice). Mostly uphill which always makes me look forward to the walk back. This should be the first thing you do on a visit to Nice. It is just BEAUTIFUL. The movie is far... More

The Chagall museum is a must see for a hone visiting Nice with an interest in art. The works are beautifully displayed in quiet surroundings. The museum really does give you an insight into the person behind the art as well as allowing you the privilege of seeing so many of his works.

Be aware it is closed till 2016, we walked a lot to get there. It is probably great museum, but we could not enjoy. I wish we knew, but we googled it, and it is supposed to be working

Very nice museum and surrounding areas (the garden) in one of the most beautiful neighbourhoods of Nice. It's not only the impressive paintings of Chagall that someone must not miss but also the "architecture" and the set up of the whole museum. If the weather is nice don't miss a walk in the garden, if not the paintings of that... More

Our mistake for not checking their own website, but no other website or our hotel concierge knew they were closed for three months. The reception person wouldn't even call us a cab and we were forced to walk a few miles back. Very dissapointing front line staff.

Checked Marc Chagall museum details before I travelled to Nice on October 17 and there was no mention of museum being closed for renovations from September. I walked from Quartier des Musiciens to museum only to find it was closed, so disappointing. Staff were very friendly though.

We were very disappointed to find that the Chagall Museum closed down for renovations in mid-September. You can have a snack at the garden cafe, but there is no art on view. Check before you go!
