This is not a Tourist attraction, thus is a functioning city facility used by many workers and people living in Nice to get around. It is subsidised by the City hence it is cheap. It is a bit tricky the first time ( there are always people looking puzzled) you use it so best to register on line for the... More

Myself and my friends tried to avail of Velo Blue bike service in Nice and to our astonishment they deducted 450 Euro from my account. When we saw this we immediately rang to cancle this and stated to them we were not using the bikes or availing of this service. The said "email us" and that "they cannot cancle the... More

We had the bikes on and off for a week in Nice. On the whole it was very simple and made it a good option as we tend to walk too much so it was great to hop on a bike. The only problem we had was at certain times i.e. 5.00pm everyone seems to return the bikes to the... More

Rented two bikes. Depositum of 150 euros per bike (300 euros in total). This was five days ago. They have withdraw depositum and 4 euros for use, but not returned my 300 euros! Will never use them again. I call it theft as they sit on my money and I don't know when they will be back. Holliday is over... More

Lovely way to see the city and free to use if you keep your time under 30 minutes. It always pays to spend a little time checking the bike before you take it away as some can be a little old and you want to get a good one. The initial registration is a pain if your French isn't great... More

Let's you get around in Nice cheap and pretty easy. Price: The bikes are free to use if you don't have them for more than 1/2 hour (and you can always just return it only to reborrow it a seond later to reset the timer). Ease of use: I've used my phone to unlock bikes, which doesn't cost anything because... More

Nice is a great place to cycle The Promenade des Anglais is long and wide and the city even has some cycle lanes now :) However the Vélo Bleu system is already showing signs of fatigue and is generally badly implemented. Before you can do anything, you need to register however the website is in French. I found it relatively... More

I've been to Nice before and tried (& failed) to get this bike hire system to work. Before I returned to Nice I used the velo bleu website and re registered to use them. After working through it and the fact its all in french I became registered. When I arrived in Nice I tried the station closest to the... More

Renting the bikes is fairly straight forward (if you speak French) What is not made clear is that a deposit of 150 is blocked on your card for up to 15 days for each bike. This money is not taken but shows as a block on your account. The actual charge (which is very reasonable if you use it properly... More
