Once you actually figure out how to book the bloody things, the bikes do the job. They're not exactly well maintained so make sure you check the bike out thoroughly before you choose it. In order to use your credit card (the only way to pay), you have to call the number advertised on the board. Took some time for... More

Despite the instructions in English It took me a while to understand how to set up an account - you need to call a French number with your mobile and then provide a credit card number. After that you select a bike station ( make sure the bikes do not have flat tires or other visible faults) and call another... More

Regrettably I must reflect many of the reviews here. The service information is both difficult to understand and then hard to navigate in practice. A few key issues: - difficult to register, nigh on impossible even with limited French. We ended up having to go to the office near the sncf station as eventually the on site machines said 'out... It seemed a brilliant idea, and having read the leaflet it looked quite straightforward, there is even an English language option at the bike terminal. After half an hour and probably the cost of a Euro we gave up in frustration. The system seems easy but if you can't understand the French recorded messages you're stuffed. A visit to the... More

Even though they have a press 1 for English, no one understands and I never even got pass the sign up stage and now they charge my card every month even though I have never used the service and have long since left France. No way to cancel your account online and impossible to get anyone who speaks English to... More

Like many people have said we didn't find the bike scheme easy to use at all. It took 3 attempts, lots of reading and a visit to the Velo Bleu office twice before we were able to actually use a bike. Here is what we learnt that might help you. - you can only buy passes from the Velo Blue... More

It was a bit faffy to work out how to use them, but once I'd figured it out, these bikes were straightforward to use. Advice: Let Chrome translate the velo bleu website for you; click on "Je m'inscris"/"I'm registering". Next, cliquez ici on "For access rights one day or one week"; then "online by credit card". Fill in your details,... More

If you don´t have credit card forget. But... if you want you can buy one card for one month or one year.

We were excited to see the equivalent of Boris Bikes for hire and read several reviews regarding preserving. However with my limited French and having called all the relevant numbers including the information support, we gave up after an hour. Some of the bikes were in very poor condition and we would recommend Bike Elite just behind the L'hotel Negresco
