You have to register by calling the number on the board and enter your card details. Once registered each bike lock has a different number, you call the number on the lock and you take the bike. (Some of the bikes are better than others so flip it up on its stand and give it a pedal to make sure... More

Who ever came up with this business idea has a pea for a brain. Could be a very successful business in a very popular area. But Velo Bleu has limited there business to only French speaking people, also people who are able to call a number once on site to register payment details... It's a shame if you're a tourist... it is definitely not easy to use this velobleu program. We read the previous reviews and registered online. We took the train into nice-ville and there were bicycles right there. We were able to easily access two bicycles. You did have to give them permission to access the second bicycle. You needed to call a number to access the bicycles... More

Come on Nice, it's time you re-let this important contract. Velo Bleu make no effort to maintain bikes or stations. It's 2 years since we last visited Nice and used them and it doesn't look as though they ever repair. Out of about 20 bikes we attempted to hire in one day, 10 were unrideable, 6 had major faults but... More

We registered on line for this in advance. Couldn't get the site to take our UK postcode but got a helpful email back saying to make one up, so we put in six digits. This worked, so we were registered. We registered separately, registered different cards. Out of five attempts to get bikes, one was successful, although my card was... More

We tried to hire velo bleu last year but failed after hours of trying, so this year we pre-registered on line b4 we went. When you get to the airport in Nice there is a bike station outside near the road. Make sure your phone is off airplane mode & that u have contacted your phone company to set it... More

We tried to use our phones to rent a bike but it became too difficult. We ended up going to the office of Velo Bleu and they gave us card with a chip that made it much easier to rent and return a bike from each station. We enjoy renting bikes in a city to see the sites. The bike... More

Have just tried this today (2nd June 2015) and I must say I found it fairly straightforward and easy to use. Dial the number requested - then option 2 and a very clear English version takes all your details to start renting. The stations can be a bit tricky as some machines seem to freeze, but simply move over to... More

We (my husband!) managed to get past the complicated process and rent the bikes. Once you're validated, its a fairly straightforward process. I think the system is designed for the locals, hence the instructions are not clear for tourists. We enjoyed very much using the bikes, and the system of dropping off and picking up wherever is convenient to you... More

I attempted to rent a bike. The keyword is "attempted". After reading instructions and even trying to translate the French instructions hoping that it gave me more insight than the English instructions I spent 40 minutes with no success. The only reason I am giving it two stars versus one star is because in trying to rent a bike I... More
