One has to hget access to the vending machies but once in it is easy and is free every 30 min time blocks. I spent the whole day cycling and only costs me $3euros for failing to clock in in time. 3 times. bikes are not all in good condition and choices is not available. If you get a good... More

Arrived at the velo bleu bike stand.Gave credit card details over the phone to register. Rang the second phone number to register for a bike and then was thrown as I was unsure what it meant by choose bike. I tried to pull the locks out of three bikes and nothing happened. So went to Place Massena where the velo... More

We were a bit wary of using velo bleu as had tried the online registration which had translation troubles and didn't accept my UK address. We decided to go to the velo bleu help desk once we got to Nice as we had read they could help us, but as it was a Sunday - it was closed! We had... More

As has been said, the system was a bit tricky if you haven't pre-registered, but we were advised to go to the Velo Bleu office on the Place Messena. Staff were very helpful there. They registered our details and showed us how to access the bikes. Then it all worked well and we had a great ride along the seafront... More

For non French speakers it is tricky to register at the bike stations as there is no telephone translation and you have to put credit card details in...problem is...when!! We overcame this by going to a station with a payment card facility and where you can get an English translation on screen. There are not may of these but you... More

Having enjoyed the public bikes in Paris a few years ago we were quite keen to access the NIce VeloBlue service for a recent trip to Cote D'Azure. I had read on quite a few TripAdvisor reviews which highlighted how complicated & user unfriendly the on-street registration process is so I decided to register at home before we travelled. The... We rented 3 bikes on August 24 and the deposit has not been released. Our bank informed us that 450 euros appear to be blocked until September 4. Be sure to have enough money for your holiday before renting. Call Center is not an option for those who don't understand french, because the operators only speak french. Even if you... More

Superb idea: inexpensive bicycles readily available for hire in excellent locations. But, it's complicated. You need multiple devices, multiple languages, and luck. First, the devices: you will need to access the Velo Bleu website and register. This requires a fee--yes, to register, you must pay by the day, week, or longer. Next, you must give up your credit card information.... More

Pro's - such a nice way to ramble around the city, the promenade in particular is a really pleasant cycle. Plenty of pickup and drop off points. Really cheap. Cons - poorly designed system - the initial registration online is not intuitive, had to try it several times but it's worth persevering. Pickup system also confusing but after you do... More

you can find everywhere around the nice. If you pay attention to instructions it is easy to get the bike and ready to go. There are very lovely places to go within biking distance so just rent it.
