The Carnival took place here while we were visiting, so lots of atmosphere. Without the Carnival it is worth a visit to see the statues on poles and the fountains lit up at night

We've been lucky enough to come in February this year and watch the Nice Carnival parades. But having also been here in 2011 we saw Place Messina without all the audience seating. It's a vibrant and interesting place with several restaurants, shops and adjoining parks.

Yet another awesome spot in this most beautiful of cities. We were lucky, the carnival was held here during our visit and we had really good seats thanks to our friends who live locally. The carnival was as spectacular as its setting - always held in February, do go if you can you will be amazed.

The Place Massena is a really nice area to take a stroll. It is located at the end of the excellent main shopping avenue called Avenue Jean Medecin. My wife and I loved the whole area and the beautiful parks that join onto the area. The parks are full of interesting artworks and statues etc. One of the highlights is... More

The revitalisation of this area is a credit to the city architects . I remember when this was a very a concrete bus station but since the advent of the tram system is a beauty to behold . As you cross the Place you are surrounded by a beautiful area of parks, fountains and sculpures stretching as far as you can... More

Adjacent to the old city, it is easy to access from there. This Plaza has public transportation, a tram and taxis. There are three beautiful statues. It is very popular for exhibitions, and parades. The city puts up bleachers for these events. You can also find a favorable exchange rate for your dollars.
