Russian Orthodox Chrurch

Stunning outside, but being renovated until November 2015 inside so closed. Worth driving there to see the outside if you have a car though.

There's a charge for visiting and it's a long walk from the old town. In February was closed for repair.

Its OK, but it is quite a long walk out of the city for something that ultimately ends up disappointing you slightly. Lots of hype locally and yes some very famous Russians used to go to church here and yes its pretty, but I cant say too much more about it.

The Cathedral is absolutely stunning from the outside and it really does not feel like it is in France, it makes you feel like you're standing somewhere in Russia. The church is very well preserved around the perimeter, and is surrounded by trees and plants. The inside was very very dark, I'm not sure if the lights were not working... More

Don't trek all the way there and find it to be closed off and covered in scaffolding. I was definitely disappointed, to say the least!

We trekked all over, after taking the bus to locate this notable site. We asked several people for directions and finally found the spires, which are outstanding-however, the cathedrals is under renovation now and all you can see are the spires. I would think you might check on completion before venturing forth.

It was a bit difficult to find and finally, when I reached there, it was close, so I just could get a glimpse through the gates but I was not that impressed in the end. There are other more interesting activities in Nice and around. But if you are really into Russian architecture but cannot or do not want (like... More

Pity the Cathedral was not open to visitors due to extensive restauration. We were however spoken to by a typical rude RO overbejewelled bishop!!Really!Unbelieveble.

The inside side is closed to visitors and just a small part of the dome visible above the scaffolding. The gift shop is open outside and you may visit the icon under a tent and light a candle if you wish. So unless you are a religious pilgrim, skip this site during the 2015 travel season.
