The inside side is closed to visitors and just a small part of the dome visible above the scaffolding. The gift shop is open outside and you may visit the icon under a tent and light a candle if you wish. So unless you are a religious pilgrim, skip this site during the 2015 travel season.

I am literally loving every day I am spending in the south of france this summer. This is a beautiful Russian cathedral dripping in gold. It glistens in the sunshine. So majestic and proud standing. Even with the renovations you can see it is glorious. Inside was not photographed as I do not agree with flashing my camera in religious... More

We were disappointed to find that the Cathedral was still closed and undergoing major renovations. As the entire structure is shrounded in scaffolding and tarpaulins, there is little to see.

Interesting visit, where you can see the internals of the cathedral, what is not very usual for a common person.

very well kept and very interesting. Some beautiful icons. One of the most interesting ones is made out of little pearls.

Made a detour to look at this (lovely) cathedral but unfortunately it's closed and shrouded in plastic. You can still worship there but in a tiny tent! The lady at the postcard shop said it was re-opening in October.

Completely under wraps and shut. No notice of when it reopens. Rather frightening at the moment to think this belongs to Russia in the heart of a French city!

The Cathedral is presently resembling a building site and is not worth visiting at present , try in the summer when I am sure it will be amazing.

A taste of orthodox Church outside Russia, full with fine arts, both outside and inside! A pity that the church is belonging to Russia!
