While it's closed for renovations, this is still probably the most striking example of a Russian Orthodox architecture that exists outside of the country. If you are into Boroque religious architecture, this place is a must.

This attraction is currently closed but none of the various information sites (including its own!) mentioned this. Several tourists of all nationalities were arriving to find it covered in scaffolding and shrouded in canvas with only a small gift shed open in grounds. Very disappointed.

The Russian Church in Nice is well worth visiting and the "Poor" rating I have given does not in any way reflect the grandure of the building. The reason for the "poor" rating is simply because none of the building is currently visible as it is shrouded in scaffolding and tarpaulins for the duration of the renovations. Indications are that... More

Closed at present time, covered in scaffolding and 'covers', but will be back as what I have read promises to make it memorable.

I was in Nice at the end of August and unfortunately had not looked at the reviews on this site regarding the Cathedral, and yes it is still closed there is absolutely nothing to see, They have set up a small alter in the grounds and there is a souvenir shop. I spoke to the lady in the shop and... More

We were in Nice 9th September and the cathedral is still closed and the outside is completely covered in scaffolding. No information on the website about this so was a bit disappointed! Certainly don't go / make an effort to visit this until you know it's definitely back open.

13 September still closed and the outside was completely covered so nothing can be seen. We were told it is not scheduled to open until 2015.

This is one of the most beautiful Orthodox churches in Western Europe. Historically significant place.

Unfortunately, when we went there, it was closed, but it looked quite interesting from the outside, Its very much Russian in all essence which is very detailed and different shapes of domes and colors. I always wanted to see the inside of the Russian Cathedral, but ah bad luck. Though we met a couple on our way, who did have... More

Unfortunately when I arrived on August 18th and the cathedral was closed and the exterior was completely covered with scaffolding. The website did not say anything about it being completely closed. Looks like I should have checked tripadvisor first before going!
