Greek, Roman, and contemporary art share a small space with huge results. The actual pieces, the juxtapositions, everything conspires to create a great experience for those who drop in while in Mougins vielle village. Welcoming, multi-lingual staff add to the overall ambiance. A must see!

There are plenty of little Art galleries to see in Mougins, but these are often focused on sales and vary in quality. This museum is a collection of art and archeological artefacts of a single person, which in itself is astonishing, given the range if work squeezed into three floors of the modest but well resourced building. I visited with... More

A great small museum showing a stunning private collection of works of art, Ancient Greek and Egyptian armoury, coins and sculpture. Definitely worth visiting and the armour, helmets etc from antiquity is breathtaking. This could easily be held in private and nobody would ever see, so thank you for sharing.

How is it possible that such a quality collection of hundreds (thousands?) of priceless ancient artifacts should be found in this little town?!!! We were absolutely blown away by the collection. Never have seen something of this stature outside of the Met, the British Museum or Getty. And it was a lot better visiting this intimate place and being the... More

My friends and I wandered through Mougins and after visiting Musee d'Art Classique de Mougins (which was good) we started finding small art galleries that are wonderful. You can find a gallery for any "genre" of art you love. My favourite was Galerie Bolore. I bought a lithograph which I love.

This is one of the most interesting museums that I have visited. The layout and explanations made it very easy to view this personal collection. The size of the museum was perfect and combined old with new in an interesting way. Staff were extremely helpful.

It is quite unbelievable that one man can own all these antiquities each one is displayed beautifully and each takes your breath away. The building, an old garage is also wonderful to see as it has been refurbished to hold these treasures.

This well-laid-out museum presents in a fascinating way artistic objects from Egyptian, Greek and Roman times and their influence on more recent works of art. With good explanations in both French and English, interactive information on touch screens and an interesting collection of armory - we spent 2 wonderful hours there.

After a warm welcome on arrival we were impressed by the subtle layout of the museum and its sophistication. Finally we had the priviledge of an enlightening discussion with M. le Directeur Mark Merrony whose generosity will not be forgotton.

Some interesting objects, though a significant amount of helmets which after a while blur into one.It is very well laid out and documented, but the museum will only take ~an hour. If you want to photograph any of the items it'll cost an additional 5 euro. Mougins is certainly worth a visit, and there are enough things to see, do... More
