What a brilliant gallery. Stopped off at this four floor museum and spent hours there soaking it all in. From Roman busts to Damien Hirst skulls and the levitating Egyptian sarcophagus at the far end, it was a real joy to see. Really originally put together and well planned out, I would advise anyone to go see this exhibition! Alex... More

Although I've been to Mougins many times during the summer months, I've only just discovered the Museum. There are a lot of exhibits packed into the small building and I really enjoyed my visit. I will certainly return for a follow up, once I've had a look at the guide book again.

We have been coming to Mougins since the late 80's, this old fortress has changed a lot. The new museum is a welcome change. Staff are friendly, the museum has a potential of perhaps adding more. Pablo Picasso's work of arts considering he stayed there for a brief time. The Henry Matisse work of arts is mediocre, the Romans, Greek... More

Lovely museum with a great mixture of old and new art. Well worth a visit amd also friendly helpful staff. Lovely classical music played in the reception area but the effect rather spoiled by pop music also being playing in the background?

One world only:very expensive. They ask for 12 euros for a rather small selection. There are other, cheaper options for a culture visit.

We regret that the only souvenir of your visit to the museum is the admission fee, when the collection of over 800 original pieces on display, over the four floors of this museum, take you on a journey through time starting in ancient Egypt, travelling through Greece and Rome to bring you to the present day. With ancient artefacts exhibited... More

Every corner of this three storied gem is packed with exceptional artefacts to delight the eye and senses. Allow plenty of time to absorb the atmosphere and attention to detail. We have already been several times and are still making new discoveries.

Many thanks for this very flattering review! It's always great to hear that we have repeat visitors and there are always new pieces to discover. You could maybe think about joining our association and becoming an 'Ami du MACM' this gives you a year pass to come to the museum as many times as you like. Thanks again and hope... More

We visted the museum in September 2014, I thought the museum was lovely with great and fascinating exhibits over 3 small floors, a great mix of artefacts, paintings and other relics. A great private collection and you can whizz round in about an hour. However, I think €12 is perhaps a little steep and I was less than amused when... More

Dear Mark We are delighted you enjoyed the Musée d'Art Classique de Mougins and its collection of over 800 pieces ranging from ancient Egypt to the present day. As a private museum we do have charges that you may not come across in French national or municipal museums but we hope that this did not entirely overshadow the pleasure of... More

This is a fascinating private collection of Roman artefacts including busts of former Emperors, (cheekily interrupted by an acrylic by Damien Hurst), an amazing collection of armour and helmets (with the most perfectly fashioned hinges on the earpieces) dating back to Roman times. There is also some beautiful Roman jewellery. The room devoted to the Egyptians was also punctuated by... More

Yes the exhibition of chocolate sculptures was an added surprise to the already eclectic collection of the Musée d'Art Classique de Mougins, which juxtaposes ancient and modern art side by side, so one can understand the inspiration so many artists have found, over the centuries, in the ancient civilisations. Thank you so much for taking the time to post such... More

This is our second visit to this museum, it's a private collection and quite mind blowing. It is basically split into three areas, Egyptian, Greek and Roman, although there are several pieces of modern contemporary art works throughout. I enjoyed being so close to the pieces, currently there is an exhibition of chocolate pieces throughout the museum which are quite... More

An eclectic mix of classical sculptures, armour and weapons, art from classical times and Ancient Egypt, presented in excellent modern premises with three floors. No expense has been spared in collecting a wide range of these artefacts and also more modern great art eg Rubens, Picasso and Warhol.
