Some interesting objects, though a significant amount of helmets which after a while blur into one.It is very well laid out and documented, but the museum will only take ~an hour. If you want to photograph any of the items it'll cost an additional 5 euro. Mougins is certainly worth a visit, and there are enough things to see, do... More

An excellent, fairly new museum, which successfully mixes antiquity with modern art from the likes of Picasso, Hirst and Lichtenstein. Most of the written material is in French and English, and is supported by audio-visual displays in both languages. Well worth the entrance fee.

A very personal collection of wonderful classical items, particularly strong on helmets, which was paired with examples of art based on classical themes. The museum building is itself an architectural gem...a successful conversion of a house in town.

Our Kingston based Art group all really enjoyed our tour of this unique, exquisite and quirky collection in the beautifully designed and curated museum. Mougins with it's wonderful views and superb restaurants is a perfect spot for the Musee D’Art Classique de Mougins with its collection where classical and modern/classical are in discreetly lively dialogue. This and the Cocteau Museum... More

What a wonderful new museum in the heights of Mougins. The juxtaposition of the old and the new works wonderfully and on occasion gives a shock to the system and who would have thought a display of soldiers helmets or ancient busts could be so interesting. Coupled with the works of Anthony Gormley (which hit you as soon as you... More

Chris Levett has certainly helped, in no mean way, to reinforce Mougins place on the global map with his unique Classic Arts Museum. In my book, no superlatives could rend enough justice to the collection of contemporary scuptures, paintings, drawings, vases, jewellery, coins and the world's largest collection of ancient weapons, armour and helmets.Busts of emperors, Olympian gods and goddesses and... a small four stories house in the quaint village of Mougins harbors an incredibly fascinating collection of objects mainly circa the roman era . Although most of the objects seem like we have seen them before here and there in other classic collections , this one is particularly exciting for its awesome presentation. The many sculpted heads of roman emperors... More
