If you don't like zoos or seeing animals enclosed - do not visit! The animals looked uncared for and very sad. It is not a conservation park and we did not see any zoo staff on site at all. There were plenty of warning signs telling visitors to run the other way if the animals escaped. The tigers and elephant... More

The environment and style of the zoo is rustic with old buildings but suits the area, heat and animals that are at the zoo. There are two options walking round if the day is not to hot or driving round like the UK Long Leat. Big area with lots of different animals that you may not see in the UK... More

At first sight, the zoo looks tired but buy some animal feed and the children will soon love feeding the animals. The animals must be well looked after as there were number of recent births. The monkeys were really active and gave a great display. The zoo could be modernised but it had a certain charm !!

Having read terrible reviews about the zoo, we were pleasantly surprised. We spent over 3 hours there – walking around with the map that you are given when you pay. All the animals had plenty of space and were clean and considering the temperature was above 30 degrees, they all looked fine and happy and the ones that weren't sleeping... More

I have visited many zoos in my life and this is by far the worst. Most of the enclosures are inadequate for the type of animals they host, they are either too small or with the wrong type of vegetation. many of the ponds have putrid water and you can't help but feeling sorry for the animals. While we were... More

I love zoos so naturally I had to visit this one. Because I had visited the Beekse Bergen before (Holland) I was really excited for this zoo. But actually you follow the same route by car as by foot, apart for two zones that are only accessible by foot. The animals aren't free at all, but in small cages as usual.... More

So sad to see animals as they are so uncared for and they sell you on entry large bag of shortbread biscuits to feed the animals which you can feed to any animal . Not a zoo to recommend

Spent a number of weeks in the region and this was definitely the low of the visit. The whole place is very much under-managed, I would even say there are many safety concerns about the site. When I drove to the entrance I said to my wife " I think this place is closed and gone out of business" but... More

Entry to the zoo is 15 €. Place is unkept, tired and filthy. Animals seem sad and malnourished, neglected. Looks like a nuclear abandoned test site from the 80's.

Strange that in most zoos, they have signs everywhere saying "do not feed the animals, they are on a special diet", but here, they sell enormous bags of cheap biscuits which you can give to the animals. Cages are all big and well kept, but you can't help feeling it could be better.
