Lovely quiet area to explore

Loved the peace and quiet of the area, and the drama of the views of the gorge rock sides that come and go as you cycle or drive along - some great falls and cascades.

It's spectacular. No other word for it. Wear flats as its a lot of uneven walking. The views are amazing. In fact breathtaking. Lots of places to stop including quaint little village shops. The gorge is impressive. Enjoyed our day here very much

We started our walk along the gorge near to the Florian Sweet Shop. The scenery was brilliant with the cliffs high above either side. We stopped for a picnic beside the river on some rocks and ate baguettes. After admiring the beautiful cobalt waters of Le Loup, we followed the path back. Unfortunately, we couldn't find any appropriate places to... More

This is a staggering gorge with Florian sweet factory, villages, chateau and even a ski station, well worth the trip and takes about half a day.

Heading out of Grasse on the D2085, there's a choice to be made: art or landscape. Whether to brave the back-ups on a coastal detour to see some of the finest 20th century art museums in France - Antibes for Picasso, Biot for Leger, Cagnes for Renoir, St-Paul-du-Vence for the Maeght Foundation..... or enjoy the more outdoor pleasures of the... Drove from Vence toward Grasse do do the gorges. Stopped at the cascade/waterfall to have a look. Paid 1 euro pp to the automated machine to go through the turnstile to enter the falls area. There was a lot of water the day we were there and it was a good view.

The falls are fantastic and magical, the granite cliffs magnificent. The roads are winding though, so beware.....but it's worth the effort. And visit Gourdon, a wondrousl hill village perched high above the sea.

Well worth the drive - take a leisurely trip around the Loup loop and have lunch overlooking the river on a sunny terrace set in the hills - fantastic!
