We happened to pick a choppy day to cross(!) - the weather was very sunny for a chilly January day. I was only on guard when the young lady tried to short change me but this was my only gripe: I knew enough French to remonstrate. Being winter: there are no restaurants or tourist trappings. This, however, added to the... More

I loved the ferry ride. The mediterranean sea, the soft sun on my face, the slightly nippy breeze and open skies. The island and fort are lovely.

We visited Ile Sainte-Marguerite, an island off the Cannes coast. You can take a ferry to this island. The trip on the ferry is short (about 15 mins) and you get a spectacular view of Cannes this way. When visiting the Island, make sure you have got enough time to visit the Fort as well as wander around the island.... More

We took an afternoon to take the boat journey over to Ile Sainte-Marguerite and it was wonderful. The boat trip itself is cool and refreshing in the warmth of the sun, with great views of Cannes and the surrounding coastlines from a distance. Even though we went in late September, the boat was completely full - so it's advisable to... More

Especially if you rent a boat this is the place to sail to.. go between the two islands and go swimming it is the best place on the coast... But get there early in the morning as is tends to be very crowded as it is very popular

a lovely island at only 15 minutes by boat from Cannes, ideal to rest away from the traffic, congestion, pollution and noise. Lovely walks in the nature, no cars !! Plenty of pebble beaches to choose.

A great daytrip from Cannes that is a high contrast to the glitz and glamour of the city, Ile Sainte-Marguerite is a great place for nature walks, picnics, and swimming in the Mediterranean. I circumnavigated the island on foot, stopping intermittently to take photos and swim off the rocks. The island is both very laid back and family friendly, as... More

Very butifull island to visit in a relaxing atmosphere. Just that in summer this is too crowded, but still nice.

We went to the island primarily with a view to doing some walking and a bit of snorkelling and as it turned out it was ideal for both and there was the bonus of the fort museum. Walking is lovely with plenty of trees for shade, easy fairly flat, well marked trails around the island and across it, with the... More

A boat trip from Cannes to Ile Sainte-Marguerite lasts only 15 min but it takes you from a busy city to another reality of a quiet and beautiful island. You can visit Fort Royal with Musee de la Mer, a small aquarium (Mediterranoscope) but I mostly liked a long stroll across the island with its beaches, Garden Alley and other... More
