Though you can visit at any time of the year, on a 20 minute boat ride, this is the larger of the two islands and while it has a small town and agreeable eating institutions, it is a great place to bring your own picnic on a summer's day, find one of the many coves to settle down in, relax,... We bought ferry tickets at the harbour without booking in advance and caught a ferry for the 15 minute trip to this island. A picturesque walk from the harbour takes you past restaurants, boats and pretty foliage to Fort Royal, where the Man in the Iron Mask is said to have been imprisoned. Entry to the Fort is a few... Boat ride was great but not the island itself as all restaurants and snack bars was closed and the weather was wet. So waste of time going there.

Great place to visit, stunning views after a short 15 minute boat ride to an island with no cars, great history here, a must see visit if staying close by.

You can visit the small museum housed in the remains of the fortress. The Man in the Iron Mask was held captive here in the cell which you can see. Then you can walk around the island and maybe spend some time at the beach and admire the view of Cannnes.

We went to ile Sainte Marguerite and visited the old fort. Although the boat ride is pleasant, and the island itself is very pleasant, we were highly disappointed by the visit of the old fort. The only thing that saved the day was the museum (iron mask cell). The maintenance of the grounds is poor to say the least, it... More

My visit to Ile St. Marqueite was wonderful. I enjoy a hike and you can do an easy 8KM if you want to. The views of Cannes and the island of St. Honerat are terrific. There are two island restaurants, one more expensive and one less expensive, toilettes, a fort with a museum, and a beach. There are several boat... More

Beautiful place and fantastic views. I would definitely visit this island again but I'm glad we didn't go for the whole day as there is not alot to do apart from sunbathe and walk. Me and my partner were here for 3 hours which I personally think was long enough. You can walk miles without seeing anyone on the island.... More
