We had been past Le Bourg Medieval a number of times on our way to Cannes and Antibes and points west of Nice. I am so glad that we chose to climb through the amazing winding streets of Haut de Cagnes. The architecture, the history and the views over Cagnes sur Mer and Cap Antibes and even the Nice airport,... More

Beauty around every corner. Please take the time to walk the streets of this quaint little town. We had to park in an underground garage. You drive into a garage and get out of your car. It is then moved into a slot in a mountain until you return. Not much parking at the top of the hill. This is... More

The lower town of Cagnes sur Mer is pretty ugly, but the Hauts de Cagnes is lovely - little winding alleyways - not to pretty pretty like St.Paul but lived in and interesting. The view from the tower at the Grimaldi Palace is great.

This part of the coast is rather modern and lacking in interest, so it is nice to head up to the old town and have a wander around.

I grew up around this town and even as a kid thought this was a special place when we took friends and family to visit after the typical long French Sunday lunch. A few spots are fairly touristy, including the old fort at the top but the narrow winding streets are full of picturesque nooks and crannies.

This is a beautiful little town near the more popular St Paul de Vence. I prefer here as it is slightly less commercial, and not quite as busy - although we were on the edge of the season so maybe more hectic in summer. There are several nice cafes around a pleasant square. Recommended.

This very pretty medieval village has many enjoyable restaurants (although few serve lunch in the fall), lovely views and the Grimaldi Chateau. The streets are very steep but well maintained. If you are driving, pay close attention to street signs on your way to the AutoParking garage. One wrong turn and you suddenly find yourself negotiating the ancient narrow streets.... More

The Musee Grimaldi is here and is interesting to see. It is quite a hike to get up to the Chateau/Musee, but worth the hike.

Haut de Cagnes is one of the less well known spots on the cote d'Azur but offers a pleasant afternoon walk around the village and excellent views over the surroundings and coast. In the Summer months the village square is often used for market/brocante days.
