Nothing to dislike. The lack of traffic makes it quiet and insulates it from the rest of Cagnes. The lanes and roads are quite steep. Lovely square at the top with cafes and restaurants looking out over the Alpes Maritimes, and topped by the Chateau Grimaldi which houses art exhibitions. Free shuttle bus every 15 minutes down to Cagnes.

Haut-de-Cagnes proved to be absolutely charming with its houses from the 14th and 15th centuries lining tiny streets. The nearly complete lack of shops was also something of a relief after having visited some other towns that have incessant “shopportunities.” We arrived late in the afternoon there were not many other people in Haut-de-Cagnes, so we wandered at leisure taking... A place to get away from it all, easily accessed by a free bus from the main square in Cagnes sur Mer. (Place Bourdet?) Winding, cobbled streets and very few touristy shops to mar its charm. The restaurants are at the top of the hill - we prefer The Grimaldi. Flat shoes essential!

It's like stepping back in time. Medieval village at its finest. Not too busy with tourists. It's a gorgeous peaceful place to visit. Lots of places to eat and drink which are all priced typically high as it is the riviera. The views are amazing. I must warn you though, if travelling by car, the roads can get narrow. Our... More

Home of the medieval castle of the Grimaldi family, this tiny village is an oasis of calm high above the Côte d'Azur. If it looks like an old Italian hill town, that is because it was until 1876.

Worth a visit when in Cagnes-sur-Mer. Walking up from the town is best. Although some very steep climbs mean that a slightly challenging ascent, also a local shuttle bus runs from centre of Cagnes-sue-Mer. Lots of narrow allow ayes with charming Provençal houses, wonderful views of mountains and sea at almost every turn. There is an art gallery within the... More

On the way to Vince or Grasse you can stop and visit this lovely place. They do have a free van that drops you all the way up.

Absolutely enchanting. All the little narrow streets, and I mean narrow. Park at the bottom and walk through and up. The square at the top with cafés and boule rinks. Wow
