I don't understand why the authorities do not make more of this building. It needs better signage, marketing and you should be allowed to walk around it without a guide. The entrance is difficult to find and not inviting.

We stayed only 5 minutes from the fort and visited it in the evening. It was well lit and it was a lot of fun walking around up top and seeing the harbor and boats at night. It's got a great view, and you can stroll through it pretty quickly.

In the 14th century, Savoy’s possession of the town was contended by France until it fell to them in 1481, after which Fort Carré was built and the port, today one of the busiest on the Mediterranean coast, was fortified by Vauban. The Fort is star-shaped, with entry via a small bridge and heavy wooden door. Inside, are barracks for... More

Had nothing to do one weekend, so went to Fort Carre as it was walkable from the hotel. Good views, there is history behind the fort, but nothing too great.

Fort Carre is worth visiting if military forts are your thing. The views are pretty cool and the guides are good. It's cheap (three euro for the guided tour) and it doesn't take all that long. I took the #14 bus (one euro) to get there and hung out on the beach before going in. It gives you a nice... More

This is down the way from the harbor we had just eaten lunch and this was our walk after. There is really nothing there just the fort which is quite cool on the water.

Distance This place is next to the harbor, which is kind of close to the SNCF station. So if you're planning to visit this place, make sure you are ready to walk (and hike a bit), a lot! Around 3kms from the SNCF to the fort. Timing Make sure you time the visit to this place property. I guess they... More

You can't miss this landmark so worth a visit just for the views over the marina and Antibes, about a 20 minute walk from Antibes harbour, cost about 3 euros entry and you get a guided tour, interesting history

The worst part, you are charged to tour the fort with a guide. And the French guides take a 2 hour lunch break in the afternoon. The guides don't contribute much to the viewing experience. Nothing of substance is in the fort, but once you go to the top of the fort the view more than makes up for it.... More

I usually don't rate site seeing places but since was such a deception I take an exception. If you want to take a good scroll there are much better places in the neighborhood. And I just can't understand why one wants to see the incredible number of yachts in Antibes from a higher look out place. It is a good... More
