Avignon is the first vaticano, when the pope Clement V settled there, between 1378 and 1414. The place is simply beautiful and imposing with the big walls surrounding the castle. You shouldn't stop walking in the gardens, on the left of the castle, experience the peacereigning in place.

Words cannot describe how amazing this was. A fantastic light and sound show staged within the four walls of the courtyard of the Palais - Such synchronization. You don't need to understand French to see the spectacular beauty and masterpiece of this show. DON'T MISS IT

The show which only is on during the summer/fall months was amazing! Even though we don't speak French, it was easy enough to follow the history depicted in the scenes which are displayed on the walls of the inner courtyard of the palace. The entire hour long program is set to music!! Loved every minute!

Two shows nightly in the courtyard of the Popes Palace. Amazing show that lasts about 45 minutes. After a full day walking I would have enjoyed sitting instead of standing. The show is in French only, but don't worry about it, just enjoy the show on the castle walls

WOW, AMAZING, WOW...don't know how else to say it. We don't speak French so we took others advice and did the self guided tour around the Palais in the afternoon so we would better understand the history that is shown in the light show. You get a discount on the show if you do the Palais tour that day. We... More

A fantastic light and sound show staged within the four walls of the courtyard of the Palais. The production, in French, was about one hour and told the history of Avignon.

NOT just another colored lights on a cathedral wall - this is amazing. Takes place in a courtyard so there is surround vision and sound. Beside the WOW factor, art and music, it tells the history visually and in French narration. If you have a little French you will catch many words because it is a professional announcer who enunciates... More

Very intersting and impressive story of Avignon history. My poor French did not let me to understand all words, but I know the subject and the show is breathtaking. A few chairs would make to show more convenient for those ones who is old or cannot stand all 40 minutes.
