A wonderful place to watch films, drink wine and coffee, or eat (there's a restaurant). A committed place for culture and movie buffs!

Tucked away on a side street in Avignon, Cinema Utopia is worth the trip. Allow plenty of time to find the cinema. There is a cafe connected. Tickets do not sell until 10 minutes before the show starts so do not worry. There is a sign out front that says what is playing that day and a pamplet with info... More

This cinema is a twin with La Manutention ( which has a restaurant ) and offers a wide range of original language films. Get there early since it is popular.

I am based 45mins away, and this is my local for English movies. Utopia is just be-hide Palace de Pope, and the first few times a bit hard to find, but if coming from the back (where its easy to park) just aid towards the back of the gold statue. It show all films in the original languages with french... More

A pleasant building set behind the 'Palais des Papes' & a little difficult to find the first time, it has a very French feel, with small Cafe' & a typically French small restaurant either side of the foyer. Tickets are sold only a few minutes before the start of the film, so queuing is inevitable, but it somehow adds to... More

The Utopia Cinema in Avignon was a highlight of our stay. The building is wonderful, nestled behind the Palace of the Popes. Multiple movies in multiple languages, check out their web cite to see what's playing or pick up their schedule at the tourist office or at the cinema. Every film is shown in its original language. But this gem... More

Basically your only option in Avignon if you want to also enjoy the voice-acting in a film, not just the pretty faces. Besides a very good selection of films, always with original sound and subtitles, the building is beautiful and the prices quite attractive (especially if you buy a 10 ticket 'carnet'). There's also a quite chic cafe restaurant at... More

It was a bit hard to find but worth a visit. Nice café and people sitting outside enjoying themselves. There were lots of French films but also original version latest films.

An unusual cinema auditorium complete with paintings of Popes!! We watched 'Before Midnight' in English with French sub titles - a fun way to improve your French whilst ensuring you still understand the film (if you speak English that is!). The cafe / bar outside the cinema is also worth a visit and makes for a great, boho people watching... More
