This was a beautiful building to get to discover, but I was disappointed every time the electronic guide said something like "this used to be a beautiful room, but it was destroyed by fire." It started off on a bad note when we got the wrong audio guides and then had to exchange them. But after that, you realized that something that could be seen quite quickly can be dragged out into a painful 2 hour plus audioguide. Although it might not be for everyone, especially those with small children, our family (couple in 50's and 20 year old son) found this building and the audio tour to be very interesting. Not to everyone's taste, this attraction is probably best avoided if you are on a trip with small kids. For everyone else it is a great insight into the history of this town. I must admit that the otherwise excellent audio commentary provided as part of the entrance fee is a bit one sided. Not one mention of the 'black'... more
Lots of empty rooms with an audioguide listing lots of dates and what a pope built and when. You certainly need a good sense of imagination ! more
