Like other places in town where Van Gogh painted, it is easy to stand at the gardens here and visualize him painting. It is worth stopping here, if only for that.

To stand in this space, to hear the stories about Van Gogh's evolution to using blue and yellow, and how he then turned the stars into flowers in the sky. How he rented a yellow house (which was destroyed during the war), and painted sunflowers all over the guest room walls, and saw yellow buildings because of the glow of... More

The places was not as easy to find as some of the other Van Gogh sites along the trail in Arles. We had the Van Gogh map and it still wasn't easy to find, but worth the search. The interior gardens are pretty, there is a fountain and what is there today is very much the Van Gogh painting. There... More

We searched for some time for this place and found it eventually quite by accident and had a pleasant surprise. Just off one of the main busy little streets or Arles sits this quite restful, nicely decorated peaceful little space. The colours are very relaxing and the espace a pleasant retreat from the bustle of the town.

This is interesting from an historical perspective because it helps you understand some of the inspiration for Van Gogh's paintings. Not to be confused with the Van Gogh Foundation, it is a beautiful little garden area bright with plants and flowers. The ever present souvenir shops are a bit disappointing but you can still enjoy the beauty of the garden... More

The garden has been planted in the colours used by Van Gogh. It is surrounded by lots of souvenir shops on one side, but in spite of this is still peaceful.

We had a really nice experience when we visited Espace Van Gogh. We found some oversized wooden games, mostly addressing to children, but anyway we also had some fun playing around. It was very lively with too many people, mostly locals, having some creative and entertaining time with their children.

Very pretty garden, true to its depiction by Van Gogh except perhaps for the plethora of souvenir shops. I was hoping to also be able to see his room, but the premises are still in use by various businesses.

The foundation pays homage to a great artist who sadly will never know how the world came to appreciate his art. If only he had been recognised in his lifetime he might have led a much longer and fulfilled life. One cant help but fee nostalgic when visiting this wonderful gallery.
