Lend your ear ... Van Gogh did.

Nothing is ever the way it use to be. This old hospital has been restored to be very nearly exactly the way it looked when Vincent van Gogh painted it in 1888/89. Today, it... read more

The faithful recreation of this garden within the hospital at Arles to the condition when Van Gogh painted his colourful picture of the hospital, is peaceful and beautiful. A copy of the painting is positioned to help you see the angle the artist viewed the area. Temporary exhibitions are housed on the first floor. Excellent ice cream shop right outside.

Nothing is ever the way it use to be. This old hospital has been restored to be very nearly exactly the way it looked when Vincent van Gogh painted it in 1888/89. Today, it holds stores and eateries, as well as the towns library. For visitor to Arles who are van Gogh fans, this is a site you should give... More

My love for Van Gogh took me to this place. I had gone to Saint Remy prior to this, therefore this was nice. A good place to visit if you are in Arles or a Van Gogh fan.

Vincent Van Gogh was treated in this former hospital ("Hôtel Dieu") after cutting off his ear. The building hosts alternating temporary exhibitions. Pittoresque courtyard (which Van Gogh painted a few times).

A Lovely Garden in the centre of Arles. Worthy of a visit. Linked to Van Gogh's time in Arles . A copy of Van Gogh painting is on site so it is easy to see how it retains its similarity to Van Gogh period.

This is the asylum at which Van Gogh was a patient. You will recognize it easily as the columns, arcades and fountain has been maintained as shown in his art. When we were there, the flowers were also in bloom so it was easily recognizable. There is the mandatory tacky tourist shop and small cafe at the entrance, but the... More

Fortunately we visited this place at the exact time of year when the flowers were out and when it resembled the painting by Van Gogh. It is worth a visit.

The point is, this was where Vincent Van Gogh rested his mind and soul. It's not your rest stop or just a FB check in point. They did a great job maintaining the garden beautiful. Try to walk towards the fountain in the center and imagine how Vincent Van Gogh felt while standing in this garden. What anguish he might... More

This is a wonderful building with some interesting drawings and maybe one painting by Van Gogh. Interesting to see for the Van Gogh fans.

"Hey, wanna go to the Van Gogh Garden?", "Sure". This colourful garden is worth a visit, if you manage to get in between all the guided tours (or you really enjoy watching other turists). I love it there.
