Quiet place steps outside the bustling town centre

I enjoyed this villa which had a glass art show utilizing the space. Loved the provencal wallpapers and fabrics. Took lots of photos. Building isn't large so doesn't take much... read more

A beautiful place with a fantastic garden We spent an hour admiring the gardens, the ponds and sculptures before venturing in to this very classic French building There was a superb exhibition of photographs by Alfons Alt. The photos looked like paintings and were truly amazing Luckily the artist/ photographer was there and we ended up having a long conversation... More

One of the highlights of Aix we were advised to visit for the gardens and interior. The beautiful grounds are free and well patronized. Tranquil and a pleasure to walk around in the centre of Aix but takes 5 minutes to walk the 4 rooms available to the public. I would not pay to see the inside again, but certainly... More

Didn't go inside, but the exterior is a fine example of the French late Renaissance style with perfect proportions and a central doorway supported by Atlantes.

There's a lot of options for Aix, and this just wasn't anything special for me. The "Rose" garden is just a few nice bushes - if you are actually into gardening or have seen some of the beautiful gardens across Europe you will probably be underwhelmed. It would be a good place to bring kids to run them around and... More

Free entry all day to this quiet, romantic garden. The architecture is splendid. Lots of benches in the shade or near the imaginatively espalier-d trees and topiary.

We were lucky to visit this lovely park in May when gorgeous roses were in full bloom. The building is very elegant and the whole ensemble is so harmonious and serene. Beautiful little park to enjoy on a bright spring day and relax from busy sightseeing in this oasis of tranquility for a moment.

We walked to these gardens and found it a beautiful relaxing spot. You can't visit the house which is a shame but the grounds are pretty.

We weren't sure if the museum would be open but hoped the garden would be. The garden is lovely, symmetrical with two fountains (Aix is noted for many many fountains) and we were so pleased to see it. Unfortunately, we arrived to close to the lunch time closing to visit inside but can just imagine how gorgeous it is. It... More

Went today. Lovely grounds. They were having a glass exhibition and it might have been ok,with some lighting to show off the glass. Other than that, the house is virtually empty. Shame
