Flower shops, street performers, wine, people...just a very pretty and memorable experience. My favorite place to be in the evening.

We were lucky to be greeted in this wonderful square by a talented jazz group. The setting under the clock tower and in front of the old city hall is beautiful and one can sit for hours sipping a glass if the music and weather is right.

The Hotel de Ville square is where everyone sits, sips wine and listens to the accordion player or local musicians play. Travellers sit around the fountain, walk through the featured artist's exhibition, or meander the local flower market vendors. It's the perfect place to spend a leisurely few hours any time of day.

We were happy that we could hear, inside the Hotel de Ville, a pre-classical music concert. It was late in the evening, torches had been lit, chords concert was in full swing .... and, above all, one could hear the old clock tower .... can be more beautiful than that?

This square is home to various markets on different days - it is always lively and entertaining. Do not miss the clock tower at the top end!

More or less what you expect, and... it's free! You can just walk into the large room upstairs. All the rest was closed when we visited on a Saturday afternoon.

It's the City Hall. No different from the one in most every other city in France. They have public restrooms there which is useful.

Very beautiful architecture that gives you a unique historical perspective. It's a quick thing or something you could sit and admire.

Beautiful building with interesting architecture. The square in front is also lovely. Wear shoes that allow for comfort as the stones can be tricky for heels. Nice spot for photos, too!

There are several beautiful 'places' (squares) in Aix. The hotel de ville is on one of the prettiest. Small but picturesque. Often a food market there. Shady, with some shops Around the perimeter.worth a short walk into old town.
