When my wife and I began planning out trip through Provence, our stop in Aix was originally on a day when "Taste of Provence" tour was not available. It sounded like an interesting tour so we rearranged things to make it happen. It turned out to be one of the most enjoyable experiences of our trip. With a combination of... More

Mathilde was a wonderful guide. She started our market tour by giving us a brief history of Aix-en-Provence and then took us on the best food/market tour I have ever experienced. We visited 4 different markets and made stops to taste different local specialities. She scoped out the best merchants in each market and we would stop for alittle talk... More

We greatly enjoyed the gourmet walking tour guided by Mathilde of Tastes of Provence. She told us a little of the history of the town and then led us to market stalls where we tasted fruit, greens, cheeses, breads, salts, olives and oils. Mathilde guided us to the world's best macaron shop, We inhaled lavender and spices and sampled wonderful... More

Grandma, parents and 1 year old joined Charlotte on this tour. It was hot and a little uncomfortable but it was a delight. Charlotte shared both the history of Aix, a little about the culture and a great deal about food and the way it is consumed in Provence. The food itself, croissant from the finest patisserie, olives and garlic... More

Mathilda met us in the center and spent the next three hours sharing about Aix en Provempnce, history and present day, walking through new and old parts of town and sampling many of the local foods in the area. She was organized, knowledgeable and made it fun. Would highly recommend her tour to all.

Mathilde organized an excellent half day walking tour for us in Aix-en-Provence. I would definitely recommend this tour! It was more like a stroll than any long walks with stops along the way to some of the best food shops in Aix. Cheese, chocolate, pasteries, wine and then the Aix-en-Provence market! We ended the day in Mathilde's cooking school kitchen... More

Matilde was our guide for the taste of Provence market tour and she is terrific! Not only did we sample all the best of the market , we heard the history behind all of the foods, like the Calisson, a speciality of France. Matilde knows all the vendors in the market and know where to go to get the best... More

As a tourist, this might be the closest you can come to getting a true French experience of the market in Aix en Provence. Mathilde introduces you to local vendors and shop owners and you get to sample a lot of food! I didn't need lunch afterwards, we ate so much! Because she keeps the groups small, you will really...
