The gorge is fantastic to follow on both sides, but remember it takes a lot of time on those narrow and turning roads. Beeing the driver is a hard job.

You must rent a paddle boat and go up the river from the lake - such a wonderful experience. Then drive the north route and take the one-way loop around the top of the gorge. Great views!

A fun activity especially for rainy day when you might not want to hike far from cover. Can carry your umbrella. Beautiful waterfalls. 15 minutes from Chamonix

If you are short on time, or the scary roads along the gorge's edge are not your style, Route des Cretes was a fantastic quick alternative to see the beauty of the gorge. If you have a little more time, there is a wonderful creperie in the cute village of Rougon with awe inspiring views.

The color of the lake is Jade, and attract me so much. Swimming there is so cool and people can also rock climbing there. This place looks like heaven.

2000 foot cliffside highway through tunnels and winding roads. If you stop at Lac de Sainte-Croix you can rent a paddle boat for four people and actually paddle up the river that forms the canyon!

Aqua trekking through the gorges with a trained guide was a fantastic experience for all three in our family - one teenager and two of us in our fifties! The guide was from Buena Vista Rafting, and was superb (thanks, Alexis!). I cannot imagine a better way to experience the canyon on a summer's day. (Hiking and driving - and... More

It was really worth a visit because the gorge offers a spectacular view and it is truly beautiful. Please do get a pedal boat to go through the gorge on the water, it was unforgettable experience for me. Simply amazing!
