The hiking and swimming here is spectacular. The views were gorgeous. We hiked 20 miles then swam and rented a paddle boat.

Several friends stayed in Flayosc for an oval weekend. One of our activities was to go Gorges du Verdon from Chalet de Maline up to Le Point Sublime. The decent down into the gorge and the trip along the river was a fascinating experience. There are only a couple of locations where you're actually able to get on to the... More

>>>>#1 piece of advice for the gorges: FILL UP YOUR TANK BEFORE YOU GO INTO THE GORGE. It is hours before you will find gas in any direction, and if you go in with half a tank, you will be sweating bullets before you come out the other side. The (very few) gas stations in the area close at noon,... More

We drove from Moustiers to Castellane. There are many shoulders along the way for admiring the views and taking pictures. Eventually, one will reach Point Sublime. This is a lookout point. When you reach it, there is a large parking area. You have to walk across an unpaved plateau for about 5 minutes before you get to the viewing area.... More

Of course great scenery but I have found similar but in my humble opinion, far more enjoyable places to see in this corner of France.

Wish we'd had time for more hiking. Go out to the viewing point Point Sublime. Beeeautiful. It's on route D952 from Castellane to Moustiers-Sainte-Marie

We drove from Castelanne to Moustier along the gorge in a motorhome. I did have some reservations before we set out but the road, whilst narrow in places, is managable in all but the largest of vehicles - it just takes concentration and a bit of courtesy. The most scenic drive during a 4000 mile tour of western Europe. Not... More
