Very good and fair presentation of local wines. Clients must make their own minds up about their choice of wine, because the assistant will not give any advice: -this shop equally presents all local vineyards. You need to go with some idea of what you want and then keep an open mind. Try tasting the progression of a wine through... More

The Caveau du Gigondas is a great way to taste and purchase Cotes du Rhone wines. There are more than 80 wines to taste. Even though the servers cannot recommend wines, the necessary information making decisions is provided in the wine list. Also, any of the labels can be photographed for analysis later. Anyway, we tasted about 6 wines, rose... More

we have visited this Caveau 5 times now and I have never been dissapointed regarding the friendliness of the staff, their expertise in the wines they serve, or the wines on the card. tTje staff is very skilled at ranking the wines you choose, and if you ask for other wines similar to a specific taste they always know what... Warm welcome at the tasting room. The staff was very friendly and happy to make us taste different products of the appellation; they were knowledgeable and easy-going, making the whole experience very pleasant.

This is my second time to this tasting room. It is located in the middle of this well known wine village. There is free parking not far away (either right across from the caveau or just past the main parking and down the hill). The tasting room has a huge number of wines from the area that you can taste.... More

This is a free tasting room for the appellation. That being said, the employees are not permitted to promote certain producers or styles of wine--they have to be as neutral as possible. When I walked in, there was no one behind the counter. A couple of seconds later, an employee comes out and greets but doesn't ask if you want... More

This caveau (regional wine tasting room) is free and provides the opportunity to "visit" dozens of wineries at a single time. There is no obligation to buy anything, but our group bought several bottles for opening later during our stay in Cairanne. The Gigondas AOC is famously excellent, but visiting the caveau allows you the chance to separate out the... More

I was excited to drive around the Vaison-la-Romaine and try out different wineries. It's a beautiful area with many choices. I was not all that impressed with Caveau du Gigondas. There is a LONG list of wines available to try, but unfortunately we didn't get much feedback on how to choose. They are not listed by type(say full-bodied, light, spicy,... More

Not the friendliest wine tasting I have ever attended. The staff did not appear anxious to engage in any manner. There is lots of wine to choose from and taste though. If you are keen on trying Gigondas wine then head here, otherwise, don't bother.

My wife and I were here this past May, on a cool and somewhat quite day. We walked into the tasting room and the two clerks were helping other customers. We walked around the store, looking at their offerings....and looked and looked. Never an acknowledgement, or a bon jour.......so we went next door.
