Good stop on a rainy day

We spent half a day here on a very cold, wet weekend and really enjoyed it. The aquarium is well organised and family-orientated but also very interesting for adults.

Went there with two kids. All aquariums are beautifully populated and the scenery is just magic. I highly recommend it and strongly suggest to book and purchase tickets on their website which gives 2 to 3 euro discount because it really is not cheap.

Save this visit for a rainy day! The La Rochelle aquarium is fantastic, terrific aquarium displays from all the worlds oceans (incl large sharks) and a very enjoyable visit for all the family. The aquarium is right next to La Rochelle harbour with a large car park. There is also a great family restaurant on the top floor. You can... More

Some friends recommended that during our stay in La Rochelle we visit the Aquarium. We arrived and paid €16 each which I thought was quite hefty, however it was worth every centime. It has been so well done! A walk through the oceans of the world and each 'exhibit' was beautifully and thoughtfully done with excellent English translations. Very informative.... More

We went to the Aquarium to get out of the rain (well it was November). We were so glad it was raining! This is a fantastic attraction and we would highly recommend it. It is laid out in sections which are easy to navigate and the information was superb, not too technical but detailed enough to gain understanding of the... More

Very interesting, non-standard shapes of glasses permits to see Aquarium contents from different sides, Needful to notice that glasses are very clean hence like invisible, we enjoyed a lot

Because our kids enjoy aquariums so much we've visited a fair number over recent years and this is the best presented and most informative we've been to so far. See the towers in La Rochelle before you go and use the tickets from the towers to get a discount at the aquarium which effectively makes the visit to the towers... More
